Back to basics with a puppy 🤎
The first lessons have officially begun 🐾🤍
Bringing a puppy home isn’t just cuddles and cute chaos — it’s foundation building. The tiny moments now become the big habits later.
We started with the basics:
✨ Name recognition
✨ Sit
✨ Stay (even if it’s 1.5 seconds 😅)
✨ Come
✨ Potty routine
✨ Gentle play
It’s not about perfection. It’s about consistency. Short sessions. Calm voice. Clear boundaries. Reward the good. Redirect the chaos. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Watching her little brain work is my favorite part. You can literally see the “processing…” face before she offers the behavior. And when she gets it right? The proud tail wag is EVERYTHING.
We’re also teaching something just as important — emotional basics.
How to settle.
How to wait.
How to respect big sister’s space.
How to feel safe.
Because obedience without confidence isn’t balance. And confidence without structure becomes chaos.
Every “sit” today is building a calmer dog tomorrow.
Every “wait” is building impulse control.
Every successful potty outside is one less future accident 😅
Raising a puppy is equal parts patience and intention. It’s choosing structure even when they’re cute. It’s correcting gently. It’s praising loudly.
We’re not just teaching commands.
We’re building communication.
Baby steps. Tiny paws. Big future. 🤍
