Our project, Elephant Haven began when a partnership between Save Elephant Foundation and Sai Yok Elephant Camp formed. The camp, based in Kanchanaburi, took the saddles off the elephant and allowed them to roam free, rather than giving rides to visitors. This project is extremely important in educating trekking camps and elephant owners about the joy and satisfaction everyone can feel when the elephants are free to roam in their natural habitat. Thankfully, due to the immediate success of Elephant Haven, there is a brighter future for the elephants of Kanchanaburi. It is time to take the saddle off the elephants and provide them with a haven. From now on, these elephants can enjoy their time walking together in the green fields, roaming freely, playing in the mud, swimming in the deep rivers and eating a proper diet. The elephants, both young and old, are now able to retire from their lives as working elephants and can say goodbye to the saddle. It is time for people to treat the elephants with the respect that they deserve. If you would like to help make a difference and provide the elephants with a brighter future, please join the Elephant Haven project.
