Smize is having her subcut. The vet asked us to do a subcut every other day.
As she has heart issues, the subcut volume must be very accurate. If too much, it can affect her. We us the Dosifix to make sure the volume is EXACTLY as instructed by the vet.
Smize is eating, and resting well. Many people have sent Smize words of love and encouragement. We want u to know that your messages are delivered to Smize.
We tell her she is a very precious girl and many people love her 🙂

Smize back home after a checkup. She is posing against today’s Strait Times to address allegations that she has passed away. Smize is not happy about the fake news.

We have been showing the vet her weight log that showed an uptrend; a good sign that her thyroid is under control with medication. The check up shows her heart condition is the same, and kidney readings are normal. However, there is a thickening of her stomach requiring further checks. As she is on medication to prevent blood clots, vet instructed to stop medication for a few days before the checkup. But we need to monitor for signs of labored breathing.

Smize appetite is excellent and she is cheerful; playing, purring and enjoys having hugs. She is a senior FIV+ cat and these checkups are meant to ensure she can enjoy a happy good quality life.

Meanwhile, apart from the Commissioner of Charity, Nparks has spoken to us and met Smize and Bobby. They have received feedback about Smize and Bobby along with other allegations. We have cooperated with both agencies and submitted documents about the 2 cats that can stand in the law of court.
Now waiting for STOMP’s publication and we will respond accordingly.

Special thanks to the person who took Smize home and contacted us. And big thank you to the person who posted about Smize to call for help. There was a witch hunt for her identity and unfortunately a rescuer was mistaken for her. The rescuer's bank information was exposed online along with threats to post her photo.

While Smize is rescued from a lonely death on the street her rescue has generated a lot of drama especially from “a few” persons who has never met or cared for Smize.

We have a new delivery to support the rescuers in Myanmar.
They face challenges but still work very hard to protect the animals!

Our oldest cat is blackie at 22yo.
Her feeders had approached us to give her palliative care and a place to pass away peacefully. She was FIV+, with severe flu and end stage kidney failure.
When she arrived, we subcut her, give her supplements, and medicate her. Instead of dying, she was getting better and we took for a check up.
Her kidney readings improved. The vet explained that it might be due to her being dehydrated at the earlier test and now with daily subcut, the result look better.

We discussed with the feeders and all agree that it is better for her to be indoors and have the medical support. Blackie lived for another 3 years before she passed away at 22.

If a cat is sick and nothing is being done, death happens. But if they have medical care, they can get better and enjoy good quality lives. If we try, there is hope.

Smize and Bobby rescue.....

We have been doing rescue work for many years and have worked with many feeders and rescuers with no issue. However, Bobby and Smize rescue have become unexpectedly problematic.

Stomp was contacted by a reader on behalf of Bobby and Smize feeders about their rescue. In the case of Bobby, they claimed a police report has been made.

Following public allegations that we broke the law, we sought AVS clarification who advised “the act of microchipping and registering a cat with the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) does not automatically confer ownership of the community cat on the person whose details are registered on the microchip, or the person who has registered the said cats with AVS.”

Both cats were so visibly ill that members of the public reached out to us for help.

• Smize was found to be FIV+, suffering from untreated thyroid and heart issues.

• Bobby is also FIV+ and was roaming his neighbourhood with multiple untreated, open sores infected with Acinetobacter variabilis bacteria.
This is a recurring sore that had appeared in early 2025.

Since their rescue, we have been caring for them, and they are recovering and are stable. While we have focused on their care, a small group of individuals representing the feeders have engaged in deeply concerning behaviours:

1. False Legal Accusations: Publicly accusing our organization of breaking the law for saving sick animals.

2. Malicious Reporting: Reporting us to the Commissioner of Charities for the misuse of Give.asia funds raised for Smize—despite our posts explaining that the funds are held by Giveasia and paid directly to the vet.

3. Targeting Informants: Initiating a public "hunt" to identify the person who saw Smize and posted for help.

4. Doxxing and Harassment: Wrongly accusing an innocent rescuer of being the informant, revealing the feeder’s private banking details online, and threatening to expose the feeder’s photographs on social media.

Stomp has requested our formal input for their upcoming coverage. We welcome this media query and invite other media because this case sheds light on critical systemic issues within the independent rescue ecosystem in Singapore:

• The Right to Medical Care: Why would feeders feel they have a right to stop others from giving community cats the urgent medical attention they need? To the extent of making threats, personal attacks and insults.

• Misplaced Outrage: While the general public is supportive of the rescues, the loudest accusations and targeted harassment came from a small group of people who have never personally met, fed, or physically cared for either Bobby or Smize.

• Chilling Effect on Public Compassion: By doxxing individuals and threatening to expose photos online, these groups create a climate of fear. The general public will understandably become terrified of reporting sick or dying stray animals if doing risks becoming targets of cyber-harassment.

We responded because we are worried about the Smize and Bobby’s well-being. Both are safe, stable, and finally getting the care and love they long deserved.

We welcome the media and relevant authorities to look at the facts and the evidence from all sides. We can provide vet records, paper trail and other evidences.

Our sweet girl Shirley is so affectionate now. She enjoys being hugged by his papa and sometimes she will meow meow meow for a hug. :-)
Its nice to see her happy and care free and has many happy siblings to play with.

This is Smize’s photo for the Commissioner of Charities.

Someone reported us to the Commissioner of Charities, alleging that Smize’s GiveAsia donations had been misused. There were also allegations that Smize had died, so we decided to submit proof that she is alive to the Commissioner.

Smize’s fundraising is very straightforward. The donations are held by GiveAsia and can only be used for veterinary expenses. Veterinary invoices are submitted to GiveAsia and, once approved, payment is made directly to the veterinary clinic.

The Commissioner was also interested in who was paying for Smize’s non-veterinary expenses. We submitted a list of costs, including transport, food, supplements and medical supplies, all of which are paid for by us. As Smize is cared for in our home, there are no boarding or manpower costs.

To date, we have rescued or adopted 201 animals for lifelong care, and this is the first time a complaint has been made against us to the Commissioner of Charities.

As our fundraising records are straightforward, we were able to provide all the requested information promptly and transparently. We fully cooperated throughout the inquiry and submitted all the requested documents and information. The Commissioner also appreciated the additional background we provided regarding the public allegations and online attention surrounding Smize’s rescue, including comments and allegations made by individuals who had never met or cared for Smize.

Meanwhile, Smize’s thyroid levels are now under control, and she has been gaining weight. She is also becoming more active and remains very affectionate. She is especially food-motivated whenever her papa praises her while she eats.

Smize is a senior FIV-positive cat living with thyroid disease and heart disease, and she deserves the safety and comfort of a loving home. She is grateful to the people who first shared her situation and called for help, to the person who brought her off the streets and entrusted her to our care, and to everyone who has supported her journey and wished her well.

In memory of Rebecca (L) and Baby Gus (R)
Rebecca and her babies were rescued by Pat-A-Cat (PAC)
Baby Gus had a brother who passed away from FIP.
When Rebecca and Baby Gus was tested FeLV+, Baby Gus came to us while PAC looked after Rebecca. In the next few months, PAC and us did several rounds of retests and luckily both became SNAP-. As soon as the result came out, we united mother and child.
Although they were separated for a while, Baby Gus recognized his mummy and they bonded immediately.
Rebecca enjoy grooming and looking after Baby Gus. When Baby Gus followed his mummy, Rebecca would turn back to see where he was and would stop to wait for him. When Baby Gus caught up, Rebecca would groom him affectionately.
Baby Gus loved to play with the other cats especially Dot Dot and Bean Bean. Or sit by Uncle Rabbit and be pampered. Then when he saw his mummy, he would run towards her and Rebecca would groom him too.
Rebecca passed away very suddenly last year while Baby Gus had dental issues when he was very young.
Rebecca and family were abandoned and believed from a hoarder so it is believed that she was malnourished and later pregnant. That could be the caused of their health issues. Things would have turn out badly if they were not rescued.
Pat-A-Cat found them, refused to give up and went all the way to help them get well. That decision changed their lives.
For whatever time they had, they were able to enjoy themselves and have the precious chance for mother and child to be together.
Now, it has all passed and they are all reunited at the rainbow bridge along with all the new siblings.

Precious Baby Gus has passed away.
He showed signs of heavy breathing so we took him to the vet. He was place in an oxygen room and initially thought to be lung infection turn out to be lung cancer. After several days, he eventually pass away.
Very sad to lose this sweet little boy. He was pampered by everyone since the day he arrived. As he grew up, he saw the young cats and he pampered them the way he was pampered.
He has a magic touch that makes everyone want to love him.
We tell Baby Gus not to worry and let go. Go over to his mummy and his brother. Uncle Rabbit, Sammy, Seng Seng and lots of siblings will welcome him at the rainbow bridge.
We got Baby Gus a bunch of carnation flowers for him to give to his mummy.
