😔UPDATE ON LEMONPUFF ULTRASOUND 🍋🆘️

Lemon Puff went ahead with his ultrasound today, but unfortunately, the results were inconclusive regarding which organ the tumor is affecting. We know for sure it is situated between his bladder and colon. On top of that, the scan revealed sludge in his gallbladder, which could lead to further complications.

To get a definitive answer, Lemon Puff would need a CT scan. However, a CT scan is extremely costly (approx $3K-4K) and requires general anesthesia. Weighing our options, we have decided to proceed with an exploratory surgery tomorrow instead. If the surgeon finds that the tumor can be safely removed, they will proceed with the removal.

This surgery carries high risks, but leaving the tumor is a ticking time bomb. It will only continue to grow and create severe, life-threatening issues down the road.

Lemon Puff's medical care continues to pile up, and our rescue funds are severely low. We are deeply grateful for any donation, big or small, to help give Lemon Puff a fighting chance.

🏡CREAM CRACKER LOOKING FOR FOREVER HOME

Cream Cracker’s neuter surgery was a complete success!

During his procedure, the vet found that he has blocked tear ducts. They are currently too swollen and inflamed to flush, so he has been started on eye drops for treatment. Once the inflammation calms down, he is scheduled to have his tear ducts flushed at the end of September.

Our vet estimates that Cream Cracker is a mature gentleman, around 5 years old or older. Aside from his eye condition, he is in good health, though he could stand to gain a little weight! He also has minor dental irregularities that don't require immediate intervention, but he will need lots of encouragement to eat more hay to keep his teeth down.

Today's vet visit for Lemon Puff (1.56kg) brought a wave of mixed emotions. Lemon Puff is a boy! But our hearts sank when the vet examined the mass in his abdomen. It is a large, calcified tumor, roughly the size of a golf ball or even bigger. While we are relieved that there is little blood flow to it, its size means there is a very real danger that it is entangled with his intestines or other vital organs.

Because of these complications, surgery for Lemon Puff was off the table today. He needs an urgent ultrasound with a specialist so we can truly understand what we are fighting against.

For now, Lemon Puff is happy, active, eating well, and pooping normally. But we know how fragile this balance is, and we don't know when things might change. We are facing a heartbreaking reality: if the specialist tells us operating is too risky, Lemon Puff will remain on palliative care until his quality of life is affected. Finding him a forever home with such a serious pre-existing condition is difficult and we already have multiple unadoptable residents with us.

If surgery is possible, we want to give him that fighting chance, but we are currently looking at an estimated $2,000 to $6,000 for his care alone; with or without surgery.

FUND RAISING AND UPDATE ON KHONG GUAN BISCUIT RABBITS 🍪

Lemon Puff and Cream Cracker are freshly groomed and settling in nicely!

Both are scheduled for a vet visit tomorrow, and if their pre-surgical checks look good, they’ll go straight into surgery. Cream Cracker came to us with multiple bite wounds across his body, but thankfully they aren't too serious and are already healing well.

As for Lemon Puff, a closer look has us suspecting she might have been misgendered by her previous vet, so our regular vet will confirm tomorrow. We also suspect that the mass near her bladder might be a mummified fetus. We're hoping we're wrong, but since it poses a risk to her health, it will need to be removed either way.

We’re currently short on funds for their medical care after draining our reserves on previous rescues.

𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗳𝗳 & 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 🍋🧁

Imagine packing up your life and leaving your pets behind next to a trash dumpster.

That’s the exact nightmare Lemon Puff and Cream Cracker just survived. Their owners moved out, leaving the condo (and possibly the country), and dumped these two boys at the dumpster area, asking management staff to find them a home. Found free roaming near the trash, they were shoved back into a filthy, abandoned playpen. Condo staff tried their best to care for them, even feeding them 𝙆𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙪𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙨 out of desperation, which inspired their new names!

Fortunately, an angel of a resident stepped in, gave them proper shelter, and took them for initial vet checks. She then promptly sent the two boys over to us, and they are currently resting comfortably and residing with us at The Moon Bunny.

Doodle’s Second Chance at Life 🌟

Before coming into our care, Doodle spent his days crammed into a small bird cage alongside his mates, Toodle and Noodle. Given his senior status, we worried it might be tough to find him a forever home. But the universe had bigger plans.

Enter Hako, another sweet senior boy who had recently lost his bonded partner and was feeling heartbroken and lonely. Hako's wonderful mom, Chloe, brought him over for a meet-and-greet.
It was absolute bromance at first sight. 👬✨

Today, he is living the ultimate pampered life as Hako’s baby brother. Seeing these two senior gentlemen heal each other's hearts just bring joy to us and remind us why we do rescue. 💕

A massive thank you to Chloe and her family for giving Doodle a second chance at happiness and for trusting that these two brothers would thrive together. 🐰❤️🐰

🌈In Loving Memory of Cadbury (Noodle) & Patchi: A Short Time, A Forever Bond💕

Some bonds are not measured in years, but in the depth of comfort two souls offer each other when they need it most.

Recently, our rescue girl Noodle, who was lovingly renamed Cadbury by Cindy and her family, was adopted. At the time of her rescue, Cadbury carried a silent battle with undetected lung cancer, which was later suspected to have metastasized from underlying reproductive cancers caused by late sterilization.

Cindy opened her heart and home to Cadbury, hoping she would bring companionship and warmth to her senior boy, Patchi, who was also navigating multiple health conditions.

What happened next was pure magic. Cadbury and Patchi bonded almost instantly. In a remarkably short time, they became each other’s sanctuary, leaning on one another for quiet strength, gentle comfort, and constant companionship through their health struggles.

Tragically, just barely one month after being adopted, sweet Cadbury passed away from her illness. Heartbreakingly, Patchi followed his cherished companion 4 days later.

While their time together on earth was far too brief, the love they shared was complete. They may not have had years, but they had absolute comfort, warmth, and true devotion when it mattered most.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Cindy and her family. Opening your heart to senior and medically complex rescues takes incredible strength, selflessness, and unconditional love.

Thank you for giving Cadbury a soft landing and a home filled with warmth, and for giving both Cadbury and Patchi the priceless gift of each other.

Rest peacefully, sweet Cadbury and Patchi. Reunited and running free together across the Rainbow Bridge. 🐾🌈✨

She enjoys gentle head rubs and prefers them over being touched on her back. While she's playful and curious, she's not overly energetic—just the perfect balance of fun and chill.

Mei also has excellent eating habits, happily munching on stalky first-cut hay, and her husbandry is top-notch, producing beautiful big golden round poops. 💛
