200 chinchillas? Hello? I am not running a chinchilla factory!
Someone recently contacted me asking if I could supply 200 chinchillas. Please, don’t prank me. Chinchillas are living beings, not mass-produced products that can be ordered in bulk.
At Minnie’s Chinchillas, I breed on a small scale because quality, health, temperament and welfare will always come before quantity. Every chinchilla deserves time, care and attention. I do not believe in breeding simply to meet a large order or maximise sales.
I am very selective about where my chinchillas go. I want them to be placed in good, responsible homes with people who genuinely care about their welfare, are willing to learn how to care for them properly, and will continue educating themselves throughout their lives.
For those who intend to breed, I expect them to do so responsibly, with proper knowledge, careful selection and a commitment to the animals’ well-being. I do not support illegal or irresponsible breeding.
My chinchillas are not commodities. Each one has a life to live, and I take my responsibility as a breeder seriously.
I would rather place a small number of chinchillas in the right homes than sell hundreds without knowing where they will end up.
At Minnie’s Chinchillas, it has never been about how many I can sell. It has always been about how well I can care for them and the quality of life they will have after leaving me.
Quality over quantity. Welfare over profit. Always. ❤️🐭
