We also want to encourage people to support animal shelters in Singapore. These shelters care for abandoned or community cats and dogs. Without these organisations, many of these animals might be abused or even put to sleep. You can support the shelters by donating food and medicines. Early Jun someone showed us this pic of owen with a face wound.
We agreed to help but he disappeared. Last last week, he appeared and was limping. The feeder quickly trapped and send him to the vet.
He was given antibiotic injections, had his wound cleaned out, had blood test, and also a series of other tested done. At the moment, he is FeLV+ (Snap test) and waiting for PCR result.
He is a young cat but look much older due to the harsh environment. We are hoping it will be a false positive although the vet advised a FIV retest because of his wounds.

Right now, he has a room of his own while waiting for the blood test results. If FELV+, he goes to Rahula FeLV Sanctuary. If FeLV-, he will join the other cats.

His current vet bills is about $1300 and will go up if the PCR needs to be repeated.

When we use giveasia, we need to submit information about the case to giveasia as well as vet's memo, projected cost etc. Giveasia will evaluate and decide if they will proceed.

When bills are incurred, we submit the bill to giveasia. They will verify and when approved is paid directly tot he vet.

If a campaign has surplus when the cat passed away or when further treatment is not needed, Giveasia directs the fund to other Giveasia campaigns. It does not go to rescuers.

Other expenses like medical supplies, taxi fares, food, etc are paid by us and not part of giveasia campagn.

This is Shirley when she was in the Chinatown market.
She would hide inside the stall and the feeders were not able to feed her.
then she figured that if she waited outside she can eat and that was when she did.
But the feeders got worried because they found Giant with a big cut on his back leg. It may not be safe for her anymore so they trapped her and she came to us.
She was really scared and was hiding away. We were not able to go near her but as long as she is able to eat drink etc that is fine.
Then slowly, she opened up. Now, she would meow to tell us she wants a hug. And when we hug her, she purrs non stop.
Thanks to the feeders who refused to give up and always watching out her her, we have a very happy, cheerful Shirley!

Smize just had her medication.
She ate a little bit not enough. We blend the medication with high energy food to give her more energy and also subcut to hydrate her.

Her conditions are serious. The immediate objective is to bring down the thyroid level. That will help prevent the heart issue from deteriorating. If she is a suitable candidate, we will explore the radioactive treatment. That treatment is meant to be one off and she will not need the lifelong thyroid medication.

Right now, she needs to be on medication, go back to the vet for check up and redo the blood test. The vet will adjust the medication based on the blood test.

As for the heart, the damage is not reversible. She needs lifelong medication and the aim to is prevent further deteriorating and hopefully no blood clots. The heart issue is easily prevented if her condition was known early and had medication.

Smize had this chance for recovery because people who saw her on the street recognized that she is unwell and called for help. Had they not done so, she will probably had died by now. We will give her all the care and support she needs.

Freckles is FIV+ and the place he came from was to be demolished. All he ever wanted is to have friends. But he was attacked and bullied.
We welcome Freckles and found him to be a very affectionate sweet boy.
When W***y came to us, he was bed ridden. W***y did not trust humans and never had friends. Freckle saw him and comforted him. It made W***y happy and Freckles became W***y's first friend.
Freckles was always by his side. After W***y passed away, his rescuer spoke to AC and was told that W***y felt loved when he came to us and was very happy when Freckles look after him. According to the AC w***y is still around and talks to Freckles.
WE know Freckles is a friendly, caring and kind cat. We are very proud of him for making such a big impact on W***y.

Oliver is that very special boy. He is always happy and never ever give any trouble. When you see him you always have a strong urge to put everything down to hug him. Smize is feeling better today.
She has eaten some kibbes and also drank water.
Also energetic.
She is unhappy with the medication we now crush it and given her bad appetite, we now blend the medication with high energy food.
She is still dehydrated so we need to subcut her. But because of her heart issue, the fluid must be measured exactly.
Alot of her situation is due to the thyroid not being treated for a long time. Now we do everything we can to stabilize her condition.
She can still enjoy a very happy good quality life ahead of her. Let us hope for the best.
