Meet Peanut, a sweet little kitty who came to CAS with a serious condition called intussusception. 🤎
Intussusception happens when one part of the intestine slides into another, potentially causing a blockage and cutting off blood supply to the affected tissue. It can affect cats and dogs of any age, but young kittens and puppies are particularly vulnerable.
Despite undergoing surgery, Peanut sadly passed away due to complications. We wish her story had a different ending.
We’re sharing her story to honour Peanut and raise awareness of a condition that pet owners should know about. Signs such as vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy or abdominal pain can have many causes, but they shouldn’t be ignored.
If your pet seems unwell, please seek veterinary advice promptly. Early assessment can make a difference when dealing with serious intestinal conditions.
Rest peacefully, little Peanut. Thank you for reminding us why every little life matters. 🐾💙
