We’re refreshing how adoptions work at the SPCA 🐾

From 7 September 2026, we’re moving to an application-first process, with a few simple steps to take before you bring your future companion home.

Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ Submit a short online application
2️⃣ Our team reviews it
3️⃣ We give you a call when shortlisted
4️⃣ Come in to meet your potential fur friend
5️⃣ Finalise the adoption and head home together 🏡

Already have an appointment booked with us? Don’t worry, it will still go ahead as planned. This new process will only take effect for adoption enquiries from 7 September onwards.

To view the full changes, visit spca.org.sg/services/adoption which will be updated on 7 September (link in bio!)

Some calendars mark the days. This one helps change lives.

Our SPCA Calendar 2027 is here, and it’s so much more than a way to keep track of seasons. Each page features one of our SPCA animals dreaming of safe, loving homes and shares helpful pet-care tips.

When you bring one home, you’re not just getting a beautifully designed desk calendar. You’re becoming part of a community that shows up for animals in need. Every purchase goes directly towards the care, rescue, and rehoming work we do, made possible by all of you. 🤍

Whether it’s for yourself or a gift for a fellow animal lover, we hope it brings a little joy to your year, and a lot of hope to the animals who need it most.

That’s a wrap for our recent Cat Health Screenings, and what a turnout it’s been 💙

Across our sessions in Boon Lay and the 2 weekends here at our clinic, we welcomed over 1,000 cats and nearly 400 families for free health checks, microchipping, vaccinations and preventatives.

A number that big could easily have felt overwhelming, but it didn’t, and that is entirely down to the team who made it happen. To our incredible staff and volunteers: a heartfelt thank you. From registration and queue management to handling cats, clinical support and assisting pet guardians each step of the way - every single one of you played a part. To the community cat caregivers and rescuers who brought the cats down: thank you for the tireless work you do to ensure their wellbeing.

These screenings are about so much more than the numbers. They are about making veterinary care accessible to those who need it, helping pet guardians understand the cat licensing framework, and meeting our community where they are. Because animal welfare was never a shelter’s job alone. It takes all of us.

It takes a village 🐾

After two years, Lucky, a gentle community dog, is finally safe. Her journey was never the work of one person alone. Her devoted feeder, our TNRM team, and the caring residents of Holland Green all played their parts.

To everyone who fed her, watched over her, and never gave up on her, thank you. Soon, she’ll begin her search for a loving family to call her own 💙

As we look back on our Pawjama Pawty Gala Dinner at the start of this month, we want to take a moment to thank the heart of what we do: our people.

Our annual Gala Dinner is a vital fundraiser that helps us continue to be there for animals when they need us most. To everyone who spent the evening with us and gave so generously to our cause, thank you for making the night memorable.

To our supporters, thank you for standing by us. Whether you volunteered your time with us, helped out for the Gala, opened your home to an animal in need, cared for the ones on the streets, or touched an animal’s life in any way, we are so grateful for you.

And to our staff, who pour their hearts into this every single day, thank you for being the reason our animals are safe, loved, and cared for.

None of what we do would be pawsible without you 🥹

As we celebrate the spirit of our nation, we're reminded that Singapore Specials like Noir are a part of our island's story too. They are survivors, they feel just as much as we do, and they deserve a place to belong.

Many of us know what the SPCA does: rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming. But that's a very human perspective. Have you ever wondered what it's like for the animal, the one journeying through recovery and adapting to life after trauma?

The reality can be harsh, and there may be parts of this video that are difficult to watch. But only by showing this reality can we stay true to our animals' journeys.

Noir is a Singapore Special, a breed as resilient and full of heart as the island she comes from. She was hit by a vehicle and her recovery was anything but simple. In less than a year, eight-year-old Noir endured five surgeries to repair multiple fractures, reconstruct her skin, and remove necrotic tissue, all while battling complications like skin sloughing and an antibiotic-resistant infection.

That is an unimaginable amount of trauma for one dog to bear. And yet, anyone who has met Noir will tell you the brightness in her eyes never once wavered.

Some might say she's lucky to have survived. But was it really luck? Someone noticed. Someone stopped. Someone called for help and set Noir's recovery in motion, her surgeries made possible by donations. Every stage made possible through acts of compassion.

Noir is now recovering well with her foster mum, Kaira. Her miraculous road to healing, and that of so many animals like her, is made possible by people who chose to care. This National Day, let's bring the same hope to more animals like Noir 🇸🇬🐾

This Saturday, we’d love for you to come meet the wagging tails and hopeful eyes at the SPCA. Maybe one of them is yours. No appointment needed! A gentle note: our queue may close early once we reach capacity, so our dogs can rest and have their meals on time.
