"The Open-X litter box has honestly made our lives so much easier! 💙 With two cats, keeping the litter box clean used to be a constant task, but now we don’t have to worry about it nearly as much. There’s no such thing as the perfect cat litter, but there’s definitely one that works best for you.

At CATLINK, we receive lots of feedback about cat litter every day, like poor clumping or litter sticking to the inside of the drum.

After looking at the feedback over time, we found something interesting: climate can affect both cat litter and your litter box experience.

So sometimes, it’s not simply a litter or litter box problem. Climate, litter, and litter box conditions can all work together.

That’s why we’re starting this community discussion! Share your experience and help other cat parents find the litter that works best for them.

🙌 How to join the discussion:
Tell us where you live, which CATLINK litter box you use, and how you usually use your cat litter.

We don’t recommend simply sharing a litter brand, since the same litter can perform differently in different climates. Instead, tell us a little about your situation!

For example:
“I live near the desert, where it’s dry year round with very little rain. I usually use a certain brand of clay litter and set Open-X to Soft Stool Mode for 15 minutes. It works really well for me!”

Is the CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro safe for cats? 🐱

1️⃣ Open entrance
The entrance stays open, so cats always have a clear way in and out. There’s no closed chamber that could trap them inside.

2️⃣ Hidden waste opening
The waste opening is located underneath the unit. During a cleaning cycle, only the used litter is guided down into the waste compartment, while the cat stays separated from the moving area.

3️⃣ Anti-pinch detection
We tested the sensor at the waste-bin opening using a balloon 🎈. As soon as the system detected an obstruction, the machine stopped instead of continuing to move.

4️⃣ Weight protection
Placed a small weight inside the litter box to simulate a cat still being inside. The system detected the added weight and prevented the cleaning cycle from continuing.

These safety features work together to help keep cats separated from the moving parts during the cleaning process, from the open entrance and hidden waste opening to anti-pinch detection and weight protection.
