Our White Socks already grow up around Neocaridina. 🦐

They're captive bred in Neocaridina ponds, so a tank shared with red Neocaridina isn't new to them. What makes it work at home is the water: an inert substrate that leaves your parameters alone, Sulaeasy to remineralise, and MADFU Nitrifying Bacteria to get the tank cycling.

Red and white, one tank.

A red-ringed eye, and fins edged in cherry. 🍒

The Muzel Cherry is a captive-bred South American tetra that grows to 2-3cm. It's a peaceful schooling fish that shows its colour and activity best in a group, and it suits planted tanks. It isn't shrimp friendly, so keep it in a fish-only tank.

Raccoon Tigers come from the mountains of China. They have clear white bodies crossed by thick dark bands, and grow to 2-3cm. They're hardy, and they do well without a chiller.

Count them in this pile of Green Jade, from bright lime through deep bottle green, with jade green as the top grade. They're now breeding close to true, and they're pond-bred Neocaridina davidi at 1.8-2cm.

Hyphessobrycon sp. Jacareacanga rings it in red, then carries that red out to the fins, set against a light green body that warms to gold. All of that in a 2-3cm tetra.

Pseudomugil luminatus packs in a lot of it: a gold body with a silver-blue sheen along the back, orange edges on the fins and tail, and a blue ring around the eye.

Wild-caught, and it shows. 🐟

This Vulcan Corydoras, CW111, comes from its home waters, with the marbling and fins exactly as nature made them. At 3-3.5cm, every bar and blotch is easy to read.

It does well in community tanks and is safe with shrimp.

Blue Ghost and Blue Fantasy in the same tank? Someone asked on our Blue Ghost post. 🦐

Yes. The setup comes down to three things. Start on an inert substrate like ANS Red Sand, so it doesn't shift your water. Remineralise with Sulaeasy. Then seed the tank with MADFU Nitrifying Bacteria.

That's it. Both can share the tank.

7-9cm, and built like it. 🐟

Brochis robustus is a heavyweight among the cories, with a deep body and a tall dorsal fin that stands up in this shot. The new batch is the full 7-9cm.

For all that size, it's a friendly community fish and safe with shrimp.

Can you find the fish on that branch? 🐟

The Lime Whiptail, Acestridium discus, is a 4-5cm stick of a fish that turns green or brown to match what's behind it. Get closer, as in the second shot, and you can see the fine lined pattern along its body.

It grazes algae, takes the odd meaty food and is safe with shrimp. pH 5.6-6.8, gH 2-6, 24-29°C.
