If you've opened a recent bag and the kibble looked different, you're not imagining it. We've started gradually increasing the kibble size across two of our dry food ranges:
Love, Bliss & Care for Adult Dogs — a smaller change, but visible side by side
Nourish Life Grain-Free for Puppies (Salmon, Herring & Menhaden) — a noticeably bigger piece
Over the past months, a number of pet parents told us the kibble was smaller than they'd like, and asked whether a bigger piece was possible. We took that seriously, and after review, we made the change.
A larger kibble helps in a few ways:
- Encourages more chewing, which helps reduce plaque and tartar
- Slows down dogs who tend to eat too fast
- Supports better digestion, since food is chewed rather than swallowed whole
- Creates fewer crumbs at the bottom of the bag
The formula, ingredients and nutrition are completely unchanged. It's the same food — only the size is different.
We know a change like this isn't always welcome. Some dogs won't notice at all. Others — especially smaller dogs, seniors, or fussier eaters — may take a few days to adjust, and that's normal.
If your dog is hesitant:
- Mix old and new together for a few days if you still have some
- Add a little warm water to soften the kibble
- Give it a few meals before deciding
If your dog is still struggling after that, please talk to us. We'd genuinely rather hear from you than have you quietly stop feeding.
We're rolling this out gradually, so both sizes will be in stores for a while yet.
