Newly-jarred Red/Steel Grey Crowntail Plakat Male (F2)

14/09/2026

Newly jarred young F2 CTPK females with varying copper irids that closely resemble their father and grandfather - the result of an initial cross between a male copper marble CTPK and traditional fighter plakat, followed by a backcross to the same male copper marble CTPK.

It seems that crosses with traditional plakats with 2-ray fin branching creates a neater, structured ray branching in succeeding generations, which meant more work can be focused on webbing reduction.

Decided to start breeding Red Halfmoon using 2 unrelated males (irids and non-irids). Straits Aquarium used to breed their signature blood red Halfmoon before the business closed. The irids male is from Sarawut.
