3 days in the wild and he’s already looking for his next adventure. 🥲

Meanwhile, Fluffy—who stayed completely silent during the entire search—is sorely disappointed his housemate is back.

Every bird is different, so what works for one bird might not work for another. Think about what your bird is most motivated by and what they’re familiar with.

If your bird escapes, you can also put their open cage/carrier outside near the escape point with familiar food, treats and water. Search nearby trees and high places, call their name, and use familiar sounds to get their attention.

Most importantly, if you spot them, keep them in sight even if you can’t reach them yet. Don’t chase them or make sudden movements that could frighten them into flying farther away.

Get as many people helping as you can, and contact local bird/pet groups, vets, shelters and lost-pet networks to spread the word.

For us, 9 people searched for Mochi, we prepared posters, kept tracking him and used Fluffy’s sounds to keep him engaged. After about 4 hours, he finally flew to a 10th-floor condo where we could safely get him. 😭❤️

Thankfully, he’s home safe and now his cage is triple locked hehe

Turns out they had a pretty great staycation... 🏡🤍

But there was a serious reason behind it.

Birds have incredibly sensitive respiratory systems, so fresh paint, strong fumes and VOCs can be harmful—even when the smell doesn’t seem that strong to us.

We waited until everything had aired out before bringing them home
