😳 A HAIRBALL INSIDE THE SMALL INTESTINE?! 🐱🩺

This is why vomiting in cats should never be ignored! ⚠️
A few months ago, this patient came to us feeling unwell, lethargic, refusing food, vomiting, and not passing urine or stool.

After further assessment, an intestinal obstruction was discovered. Surgery was needed, and an enterotomy was performed to remove the obstruction.

And what did we find? 👀 A hairball trapped inside the small intestine! 🐈
🚨 Intestinal obstructions can be life-threatening if left untreated.

If your cat is repeatedly vomiting, refusing food or becoming unusually lethargic, don’t wait for things to get worse. Seek veterinary attention promptly.

This kitty was born with a non-functional eye due to a genetic condition. For 8 years, the eye didn’t cause any major problems until recently, when it started becoming enlarged and uncomfortable. So, a decision was made to remove it.

An enucleation is a surgical procedure where the entire eye is removed when an eye is non-functional, painful, or causing ongoing problems.
