A very special visitor at the farm! ✨

Huge thanks to Kelvin Wong of KW Shrimps for connecting me with Leon of Shrimp Mania, who came to the farm to interview me and see what I do behind the scenes.

For those who don't know Leon — he's a well-known shrimp breeder and content creator who travels the world to meet breeders, soak up expertise, and share it all on his YouTube channel. He also runs Shrimp Mania, a UK-based shop built "by hobbyists, for hobbyists."

I am truly honoured to host him. And let's just say—he's a total perfectionist when it comes to his work, so we know whatever he puts together will be worth the wait. 😉

New shipment of the original Japanese 12-red Ryukins, one of the most coveted colour patterns in the goldfish world: scarlet-red on eye rims, side cheeks, and fins with tails resembling crimson maple leaves against pearl-white bodies.

Among millions of fry, these natural colours appear only in a precious few— making each a lifelong pursuit for collectors.

Japanese goldfish culture celebrates both visual and dynamic beauty, best viewed from above, where every graceful movement comes alive.

Regrettably, we lost a few along the way. These survivors pulled through Day 7 of quarantine, and we start beefing them today. Stay tuned as we build them plump and sturdy, complemented by their red maple-leaf tails.🍁

Mutant goldfish with Ginkgo-leaf tails,
and their pelvic fins are gone too 😱.
Ranchu lacks dorsal as well, so I guess —
strange is just what we learn to accept.

But here's the line I draw with care:
will the lack of pelvic fins affect their welfare? 🤔
Aesthetics please, but health comes first —
so maybe I'll put those pelvic fins back in.

Should I take off that heavy wen too?
Cross with Jikins—that's what I'll do.
Both with split caudal, clean and light,
form that flows and fins that delight,
like petals dancing in the breeze. 🌸🌸🌸

Can't wait to see this blueprint come to life.

Yet a plan without action is just a wish.
May my will hold and luck finds me,
so I can, once again,
breathe life into something new. 😉🍀

All new arrivals are currently under quarantine for a minimum of 7 days. Sales will only open once they are fully stable and acclimatised. Follow our updates for more details.
