People often mixed this up with the green neon tetra which is also called the paracheirodon simulan, but the fact they are very different

Green neon tetra

Some people said this " the fish is wild caught because the red line is longer " , NOPE they are wrong, those with short red are called Neon , not green neon

Many people will ask this question , " how to tell wild caught or captive"

1st ( Color and looks)

Wild Intense metallic green-blue stripe that runs all the way to the tail. Red is faint and only on the lower back half. Body is slimmer, more streamlined.

2nd ( Behavior )
Wild Skittish at first, school very tightly, hide from bright light. Take 1-2 weeks to color up and start eating well.

Captive is braver, start eating on day 1, school looser, handle normal tank lighting right away.
