❓️Did you know that brushing your dog incorrectly can actually cause hidden mats to form tighter against their skin?

Regular brushing is essential, but doing it properly makes all the difference for your pup’s skin health and comfort.

Here is what you should always keep in mind:

➡️ First, practice line brushing by gently parting the fur to ensure you are brushing from the skin outward, rather than just gliding over the topcoat.

➡️ Second, make sure you are using the correct tool for your dog’s specific coat type, whether that is a slicker brush or an undercoat rake for a double coaed dog. Always run through the fur with a metal comb to check for tangles.

Finally, never put a matted dog straight into the bath. Water tightens knots and turns minor tangles into solid mats that often have to be shaved off.

Do you know?? ➡️A**l gland rupture in dogs and what you need to know

A**l glands can become blocked or infected, leading to painful swelling. If left untreated, they may rupture, causing an open wound near your dog’s rear.

⚠️ Watch out for these signs:
• Scooting
• Strong, foul odor
• Excessive licking of the rear
• Swelling or redness

Early care can prevent discomfort and more serious complications. If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s best to seek help right away.
