30 SECONDS AT OUR FARM! ⏲️
Hong An Sets the Challenge πŸ’ͺ

During one of Carlton City Hotel Singapore Carlton City Hotel’s monthly CSR sessions at our farm, our staff Hong An challenged General Manager, Douglas Glen to turn our Ridan composter using just one arm instead of two.

Douglas accepted the challenge. It was a piece of cake, hence the big cheers!

Inclusion does not always have to feel formal or serious. Sometimes it looks like this: a friendly challenge, shared laughter, loud cheers and a spontaneous hug. πŸ€—

22 visitors. One very full morning. πŸ„β€πŸŸ«

Our friends from ABN AMRO Clearing Bank spent last Friday morning with us, meeting our Buddies, harvesting and trimming mushrooms, getting hands-on with composting and, of course, plenty of mushroom tasting.

They even went home with what they harvested... and a little more. πŸ˜„

Thank you, ABN AMRO Clearing Bank, for spending the morning with us. πŸ’š

Every order means more than mushrooms.πŸ„β€πŸŸ«

It supports real employment for our staff who are differently-abled and helps us keep doing what we do.

Thank you to everyone who orders from us, enjoys our mushrooms at our restaurant partners, donates through our Gift a Harvest Programme, or supports Mushroom Buddies in other ways.

Every order matters. πŸ’›

A friendship that continues to make a difference. πŸ’š

This morning, we welcomed our friends from the British Association of Singapore British Association of Singapore to our farm.

The visit was especially meaningful as they presented Mushroom Buddies with a generous donation from funds raised through their Walkaway panel event in March, inspired by Sally J Clarke’s book Walk Away: Step Out to Step Up.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Sally herself S. J. Clarke , together with Martin and Simon from the British Association. They met our staff, toured our little mushroom farm and learnt more about what goes on behind the scenes.

As a not-for-profit social enterprise run by volunteers, support like this means a great deal to us. It helps us continue providing employment for our staff who are differently-abled while keeping our farm running and our mission moving forward.

Our heartfelt thanks to the British Association of Singapore, Sally J Clarke and everyone who supported the Walkaway event for choosing Mushroom Buddies as one of its beneficiaries.

This Saturday, you can also hear Sally J Clarke in conversation with Glenn van Zutphen on Money FM 89.3, talking about leadership, choice and reinvention.

Saturday, 15 August | 10:30am SGT

Do tune in if you can.

Thank you for believing in what we do and for continuing to walk alongside us. πŸ’š
