Meet Luckyโฆ or as we affectionately call him, Uncle Lucky. At 16 years oฬถlฬถdฬถ young, heโs a true senior gentleman with plenty of love and life left to give.
Lucky came to us after his elderly owner fell seriously ill and could no longer care for him. His ownerโs children were unable to manage his care, so Lucky was boarded with us while we helped look for a new home for him.
Then came Xiang Lin (Xiang Lin) who saw his adoption post and reached out.
She was considering a few cats at our shelter โ not just the kittens or younger cats, but some of the cats who are often overlooked in favour of those who are younger, more conventionally โdesirableโ or have the advantage of being mixed breeds.
And among them was Uncle Lucky. ๐ฅน
Weโre so happy to share that this senior boy has found his forever family and a new place to call home. ๐ฅณ He now comfortably enjoys an indoor house cat life with Xiang Lin and a sisfur Robin, an Alison Cat Care graduate two years ago!
๐๐ค๐ข๐๐ฉ๐๐ข๐๐จ, ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ค๐จ๐๐ฃ ๐ข๐๐๐ฃ๐จ ๐จ๐ค๐ข๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐จ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ก๐ค๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐, ๐ก๐ค๐ค๐ ๐จ, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ก๐ก ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ข๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ โ๐ก๐๐จ๐จ ๐๐๐ค๐ฅ๐ฉ๐๐๐ก๐.โ
And Luckyโs story is a gentle reminder that ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ผ. They may come with a few more grey hairs, slower steps and perhaps some extra care, but they have just as much capacity to love and be loved. ๐ฅฐ
There are many older cats waiting quietly in shelters, hoping someone will see beyond their age and give them a chance.
Somewhere out there, someone is looking for an Uncle Lucky. Maybe that person is you. Who knowsโฆthe best match may just be the one you never expected. ๐๐พ
