They were already old when they came to us — thin ribs, soft paws that tremble, and eyes that have seen too many winters. Today 19 senior cats and one elderly dog call 2ndChance Shelter Singapore their home. Many of them need round-the-clock care: chronic kidney disease that needs special food and medication, dementia and separation anxiety that make every thunderstorm and empty hour terrifying, failing hearts and painful joints that slow their steps, and some are FIV+. They survived hard things. Now they need us.
We are urgently raising SGD 5,000 by 22 June 2026 to cover their immediate medical and care needs:
- lifesaving vet consultations and blood tests for CKD and heart monitoring
- ongoing medications and subcutaneous fluids for renal support
- prescription renal and joint diets, supplements and pain relief
- mobility aids, warm bedding, and extra staff time for anxious or confused animals
- dental care and any unexpected emergency treatments
Every dollar keeps a fragile life comfortable. For example:
- SGD 20 buys one day of prescription renal food for a cat
- SGD 50 helps buy medication for pain/joint relief
- SGD 100 covers part of a vet visit and blood work
