🐱👂Cat ear cleaning: the less dramatic way!

Does your cat turn into a tiny ninja the moment they see the ear-cleaner bottle?

Try this gentler approach:

🧴 1. Get your supplies ready
Use a vet-approved ear cleaner, cotton balls and some treats.

💧 2. Soak a cotton ball
Instead of pouring the solution directly into the ear, soak a cotton ball with ear cleaner and gently squeeze it so the solution trickles into the ear canal. This can be better accepted by some cats.

👂 3. Massage
Gently massage the base of the ear for 20–30 seconds. Squish squish!

🐾 4. Let them shake!
Step back and let your cat shake their head — this helps bring loosened debris out.

🧻 5. Wipe clean
Use fresh dry cotton balls or gauze to gently wipe away the loosened wax and debris from the ear flap and visible part of the ear canal.

🍗 6. Treat & repeat!
Lots of praise and treats = hopefully less drama next time.

🚫 No cotton buds deep inside the ear!

If the ears are very dirty, smelly, red, painful or producing lots of discharge, get them checked by a vet rather than simply cleaning them at home.

Proud to be the veterinarian on duty at Singapore's first WCF Cat Show! 🐱🏆

Our team was honoured to provide health checks for all participating cats, helping to ensure every feline competitor was fit, healthy, and ready to shine.

It was a privilege to support such a milestone event and meet so many beautiful cats, passionate owners, breeders, and cat lovers. Congratulations to all the participants—we can't wait to see the WCF community continue to grow in Singapore!

This little kitten was surrendered to us covered in glue.

After several rounds of cornstarch, cooking oil, and gentle dish soap baths, plus lots of patience and love, she's made an amazing recovery.

Now she's back to doing what kittens do best—playing, exploring, and showing off her cheeky personality.

She's currently being fostered by one of our wonderful nurses while she waits for her forever home.

What removes glue from a cat? 🐱

This poor kitten was found covered in glue. Left untreated, glue can trap dirt and bacteria against the skin, leading to painful sores and serious infections.

The good news? With a little patience, cornstarch, cooking oil, and dish soap helped break down and remove the glue safely.

Check out our upcoming post to see this little one's incredible transformation! ❤️🐾

It was a special day for this little girl. Spay, preventive gastropexy, and hip dysplasia screening X-rays.

“Bloat” (GDV) is every large breed dog owner’s nightmare 😵‍💫
The stomach fills with gas and can twist on itself — trapping air, cutting off blood supply, and becoming life-threatening very quickly.

That’s where a gastropexy comes in. Think of it as a seatbelt for the stomach — surgically tacking it into place to reduce the risk of twisting.

We also took hip dysplasia screening radiographs too.
These X-rays help assess how well the hip joints fit together, allowing early detection of hip laxity or arthritis changes — especially important in predisposed large breed dogs 🐕‍🦺

High-risk breeds for GDV/bloat include:
🐾 Great Danes
🐾 German Shepherds
🐾 Standard Poodles
🐾 Weimaraners
🐾 Saint Bernards
🐾 Irish Setters
🐾 Dobermans
🐾 Boxers

Preventive care = future comfort, mobility, and peace of mind 💕
