Enrichment at daycare? Got lah!

At Noble Canine Oasis, enrichment isn't just about playing until shiok shiok and going home tired. 🤭

It's about giving our doggos opportunities to sniff, explore, problem-solve, make choices and engage their brains!

Because a fulfilled dog isn't necessarily the one who runs the most. Sometimes, it's the one who gets to sniff until satisfied. 🐽

Body exercise important. Brain exercise also must have lah! 💙

What does a genuinely good day at daycare look like for your dog?

A few years ago, I worked with a Beagle who found being around other dogs incredibly overwhelming.

His owners struggled to take him on walks, let alone sit comfortably at a café with other dogs nearby.

We made good progress through behavioural training, but there was something more he needed. The opportunity to practise being comfortable around other dogs in a properly managed environment.

We found a wonderful daycare willing to work with us.

Rather than simply placing him into a group, they introduced him gradually, carefully managed his interactions and provided a balance of play, enrichment and rest.

The difference was remarkable.

Today, his owners can enjoy a coffee while other dogs walk past without him becoming overwhelmed.

I've also seen the opposite. Dogs who became more anxious, reactive or overstimulated because their daycare environment wasn't appropriate for them.

These experiences have shaped my understanding of what good daycare should look like.

Play hard, rest well! 💤

At Noble Canine Oasis, we believe quality daycare isn't about non-stop excitement.

Rest gives our dogs the opportunity to decompress, regulate their arousal levels and recharge between activities.

Because sometimes, the most important part of daycare is learning that it's okay to do absolutely nothing.

Happy dogs need balance, not constant stimulation.

🎃🐾 A PAWSOME WEEKEND AT PAWLLOWEEN! 👻

A huge thank you to Chewbarka, Tesla Singapore Official Account and Tiong Bahru Plaza for inviting Noble Canine Oasis to be part of this weekend's Pawlloween festivities! 🧡

We had such a wonderful time meeting fellow dog lovers, sharing insights into canine behaviour and having some really meaningful conversations about our four-legged companions!
