My dearest Timber, at 7:45am on 11 June, the house became quiet in a way my heart was not ready for. You were only a few months away from turning 16, and this morning, you took your final breath and crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge.
For the past two years, as your body slowly aged, I thought some of your barking was due to dementia. Over time, I realised I was wrong. Your barking was not random. You were still communicating with me. You would bark once or twice when you needed to p*e, or when you were thirsty. You barked because there was something your body needed, and you were trying to tell me clearly. Once I understood, you would settle again.
This morning, even in your final hours, you were still the same Timber. When your body was uncomfortable, you barked to let me know. Once I changed the pad for you, you stopped. That moment will stay with me because it reminded me how intelligent you were. 😍Even when your body was no longer strong, you still knew how to make yourself understood.
Senior pets teach us a different kind of love. Sometimes, love is checking on them through the night, changing their pad, offering water, and staying nearby while they rest. Timber, you taught me that love. You never gave up easily. I saw how hard you tried, and I hope you know I tried my best also.
In January, I lost Asher. In June, I had to say goodbye to you. Losing two of my boys in less than six months has left an emptiness I do not know how to describe. Now that both of you have crossed over, I no longer have a companion physically beside me at home. The routines around both of you have stopped, and the silence hurts.
Even as an experienced animal communicator, guiding my own pets towards the Rainbow Bridge is never easy. Knowing more does not make the heart hurt less.
I am thankful I managed to fulfil both your wishes, and that both of you passed peacefully on your own. Rest gently now, Timber. You gave me years of love, and I will carry you with me always. You will always be my Timber.
To my clients whose appointments had to be rescheduled today, I am truly sorry. I had to be with Timber and handle his final arrangements. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
