Four Jewellery Gallery - Workshop FOUR is a gallery and studio for contemporary jewellery. FOUR är ett galleri kombinerat med ateljé för samtida smyckekonst.

At Four we make our best to welcome everyone. There are ramps both at the main entrance and to the gallery. Outside the gallery there is space to park larger carriages whil

e visiting the gallery. We can also offer visitors a toilet however it is a small space not adapted for, for example weelchairs. Since the facilities hosts workshops we are not always capable to avoid strong odours. Jewellery art is a visual experience but it has many other qualities – the sound, smell and tactility is something we encourage our visitors to explore. Jewellery art is therefore an art genre that speaks to people with, for example, hear loss or vision impairment. Dogs are welcome at Four. We are always there and we will make our best to assist! Barnvagnar, rullatorer och liknande är varmt välkomna till Four. Det finns ramper både upp till huvudentrén och till galleriet. Det finns utrymme att parkera större rullstolar och andra hjälpmedel utanför galleriet. Hundar är välkomna på Four. Vi har en toalett men den är liten och inte anpassad för t.ex. rullstolar. Då lokalen även inhyser verkstäder kan det förekomma starka dofter. Hands have a central place in Barbara Posch's series of drawings “With our different tools”. When she draws, her hand and pen form a connection between her mind space and her physical space. In the mind space there is no finished image - it emerges as a result of the collaboration between nerve signals, the motor skills of the hand and the function of the pen. During the process, she discovers things that lead her further. Together, the hand and the pen create the development.

Finally the summer break is over and the exhibitions starts again at Four! On Saturday we open Shifters by Alexander Blank and Barbara Posch. Warmly welcome 13-16 and don't miss the artist talk at 14 with Alex, Barbara and Julia Obermaier who is currently doing an Artist-in-Residence in Östersund and her exhibition “What we keep” is running at Galleri Smedjan until September 5th.

The artist talk is a collaboration between Four, Galleri Smedjan, Röbäck Glas & Lera, Samtida Konsthantverk i Västerbotten and IASPIS, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee's International Programme for Visual and Applied Arts.

For Danni Schwaag, the appeal lies in making, in trying things out, experimenting with form, color and material. She has to play, to play with the material. Schwaag's ongoing work was developed during an artist-in-residence at the Jakob Bengel Foundation and the Idar-Oberstein University of Applied Sciences. The main material is galalith, which she combines with enamel, copper and silver.
