Horses of Taiga Riding tours and horse holidays with Icelandic horses in Swedish Lapland. Certified ecotourism. Horses of Taiga, it’s our life project.

Our aim: make everyone discover our wonderful polar region, on fun Icelandic horses and in total respect of nature and local people. A life goal we wish to share with as many earthlings as possible!

It started with the love for horses. Rianne came for a 9-day horse holiday, and directly the conversations were endless. We then discovered many other common interests: nature, animals, environment, a love for things well done...
We (re)built Horses of Taiga together, listening to the horses's needs and to each other's.
Now, after 7 years of this great adventure... we are married!

Having a horse farm means constantly making choices. Everything we do is made of conscient choices, always driven by the well-being of our horses.

🐎 Horses are herd animals, they have a need of having friends, forage and freedom. This is why our horses live 24/7 outside with access to shelters.

🐴 Riding bitless protects a horse's sensitive mouth. With so many different riders, it is the softest option for the comfort of our horses.

👣 Keeping a horse barefoot allows its hooves to naturally expand, improving blood circulation and shock absorption, which promotes overall soundness and reduces the risk of joint injuries.

👩‍⚕️ It's important that our horses feel good in mind and in body. This is why they have individual fitted saddles, regular dentist checks and see a physiotherapist when needed.

Thank you so much to all of you that came to celebrate with us yesterday!
It was great to be able to talk to everyone, show what our little horses can do. Micke's Kaiserschmarn were a big success and we even got spoiled with presents

Summer has finally started for the horses!
It is actually the first time they get so excited about it, they usually directly put their nose in the grass 😅
