🐱 **Is your cat’s microchip still working and correctly registered?** Miows Cat Care can check if it is still working, I have my own chip reader.
A microchip is only useful if it can be read **and** the registration details are up to date.
In Portugal, make sure your cat’s chip is registered correctly and linked to your current contact details. This is done at your Vet within Siac.
If your cat ever gets lost, a vet, shelter, rescue centre or the local bombeiros can scan the chip and contact you.
But, did you know no one else can see the chip details in Siac ? Not even yourself. Therefore it might be good to register as well with for example PetBase, this is an international chip registration company which you can handle yourself.
Have you moved, changed your phone number, or adopted a cat with an existing chip? Then it’s worth checking the registration.
