🐾 SUCCESS STORY — From painful and unwell to happy again! 🐾
Diana, a 12-year-old German Shepherd, presented with lethargy, hyporexia, pruritus, fever and pain when her back was touched. Her owners were understandably very worried and feared that they might have to say goodbye to her.
After carefully shaving the affected area, we discovered a large area of moist dermatitis with several “nests” of fly larvae. These were carefully removed, and the area was thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
Diana was treated with antipruritic, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic medication, alongside twice-daily cleaning and wound care at home.
📸 The progress over just 10 days:
➡️ Day 0: Extensive moist dermatitis with multiple deep areas where the larvae had been residing
➡️ Day 4: Clear improvement
➡️ Day 6: Continued healing
➡️ Day 10: A remarkable transformation!
But this recovery wasn’t just down to veterinary treatment. ❤️
Diana’s owners were absolutely fantastic. They followed the cleaning instructions twice daily and administered all medication exactly as prescribed.
And the result?
✨ Diana is a happy girl again — running around with her friends! 🐶💜
