🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I've had these lizards for quite a while now! 😁 I've been keeping them since 2020, and I've loved them ever since. But this time... I think I love them even more 🤪

This is one of those moments that always melts my heart. Mum and her little one in the picture ❤️ The eggs were incubated at room temperature, around 23–24°C, for roughly 140 days. One baby hatched last week, and now we're impatiently waiting for its brother or sister to make an appearance from the other egg 🙈

How could anyone not love these little tails — both the tiny ones and the big ones? 🤣❤️

Uroplatus henkeli

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

Uroplatus henkeli, zacna grupa. Po znajomości udało się ogarnąć praktycznie wszystko — od podłoża, przez tuby i rośliny, aż po samo terrarium... no i oczywiście przez najważniejsze, czyli same gady! 🤪

Tak właśnie wygląda wspólna praca i pomoc. Jedna osoba coś ma, druga coś potrafi, ktoś inny dorzuci swoje trzy grosze i nagle okazuje się, że można zrobić coś naprawdę fajnego. ❤️

Terrarium powstało w naprawdę krótkim czasie, a już teraz moim skromnym zdaniem wygląda całkiem dobrze. 😆 Teraz pozostaje tylko dać roślinom trochę czasu i pozwolić mieszkańcom zrobić resztę

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Completely by accident. I wasn't supposed to get them, and yet... somehow they ended up with me. 😆 Until recently, I thought I wouldn't be adding anything new or particularly special to my collection anytime soon. Apparently, life had other plans.

Uroplatus henkeli — quite a group. Thanks to some good friends, we managed to sort out pretty much everything, from the substrate, cork tubes and plants, all the way to the enclosure itself... and of course, the most important part — the reptiles! 🤪

This is what teamwork and helping each other in this hobby can look like. One person has something, another has the skills, someone else adds a little bit of help, and suddenly you can put together something really cool. ❤️

And today I can finally show you the Uroplatus I've been putting aside for "later" for years. 😅

The enclosure was put together in a surprisingly short time, and honestly, I think it already looks pretty good. 😆 Now all that's left is to give the plants some time and let the residents do the rest

Cyrtodactylus quadrivirgatus 🦎

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

Cyrtodactylusy to naprawdę ciekawy rodzaj, a niektóre z nich potrafią dodatkowo wokalizować w nocy.

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Usually these geckos are ridiculously secretive, but I happened to catch them on one of those rare days when I could actually observe them properly. Just making sure everyone was doing well, everyone was alive and... most importantly, well fed. 🤣

Cyrtodactylus is such an interesting genus, and some species can even vocalize at night. The sound is incredibly difficult to record though — it's very quiet and surprisingly short. And what's interesting is that it doesn't really sound like the typical bird-like chirping you might expect. It actually sounds almost... mechanical? 🤔 Something like a ticking time bomb straight out of a movie. 🤣

And then there are Geckoella, which were once also classified within Cyrtodactylus. It's genuinely hard to decide which of these geckos is more fascinating... and I think that's exactly what makes this hobby so amazing. ❤️

Anyone who hasn't had the chance to keep or experience them yet... you're missing out! 🤣

Egernia striolata

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Egernia aren't only about spiky scales! 😆 There are also smooth, tough little lizards that look like tiny armored reptiles.

Just like every member of this genus, I absolutely adore them. 😍 They have such a cuddly vibe — they're constantly snuggled up together, spend most of their days side by side, and explore the enclosure together.

And the funniest part? The moment I show up with a container full of crickets, they somehow already know exactly what's coming. 🤪 They don't even have to see the food yet, and they're already interested in what I've brought.

They're incredibly clever, and I think that's one of the things I love most about them. ❤️

Te bardziej "wyjątkowe" okazy mieszkają w osobnej szklanej gablocie. Znajdziecie tam m.in.:
🌱 Alocasia cuprea Latte Peach
🌱 Alocasia Golden Bone Pink Mint
🌱 Alocasia nebula Aurea
🌱 Alocasia nobilis Pink
🌱 Alocasia scalprum albo mint
🌱 Alocasia Yucatan Princess Pink Variegata
🌱 Alocasia Yucatan Aurea
🌱 Alocasia Black Velvet Pink
🌱 Alocasia Bambino Pink
🌱 Syngonium Scrambled Egg
🌱 Syngonium Batik Variegata
🌱 Hoya undulata Sarawak Splash
🌱 Philodendron Silver Sword Variegata
🌱 Philodendron micans Variegata
W osobnym pojemniku rosną jeszcze:
🌿 Emblemantha urnulata Lemon Lime
🌿 Emblemantha urnulata Ultra Pink Fluo
🌿 Labisia beccarii Turtle Back Red
🌿 Ardisia Perlis Malaysia
🌿 Ardisia Kapuas Hulu Silver
A w terrariach można znaleźć między innymi:
🪴 Neoregelia Akeso
🪴 Neoregelia ampullacea Hybrid
🪴 Neoregelia Iris
🪴 Neoregelia Tigrina
🪴 Neoregelia Caviar
🪴 kilka innych, niezidentyfikowanych Neoregelii
🪴 Solanum uleanum
🪴 Biophytum sp. Ecuador
🪴 i wiele, wiele innych...
Jestem ciekaw... ilu z moich obserwatorów również kolekcjonuje takie kolorowe "chwasty"? A może ktoś z Was równie mocno siedzi w aroidach, melastomach albo bromeliach? 🌿👇

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
For quite some time now, besides reptiles, I've also become deeply interested in collecting rare plants. 🌿 Some of them have found a place inside my reptile enclosures, so reptiles aren't the only thing I live for anymore. 😅
The more special specimens live in their own glass cabinet. Some of them include:
🌱 Alocasia cuprea Latte Peach
🌱 Alocasia Golden Bone Pink Mint
🌱 Alocasia nebula Aurea
🌱 Alocasia nobilis Pink
🌱 Alocasia scalprum albo mint
🌱 Alocasia Yucatan Princess Pink Variegata
🌱 Alocasia Yucatan Aurea
🌱 Alocasia Black Velvet Pink
🌱 Alocasia Bambino Pink
🌱 Syngonium Scrambled Egg
🌱 Syngonium Batik Variegata
🌱 Hoya undulata Sarawak Splash
🌱 Philodendron Silver Sword Variegata
🌱 Philodendron micans Variegata
In a separate container I also keep:
🌿 Emblemantha urnulata Lemon Lime
🌿 Emblemantha urnulata Ultra Pink Fluo
🌿 Labisia beccarii Turtle Back Red
🌿 Ardisia Perlis Malaysia
🌿 Ardisia Kapuas Hulu Silver
And inside my terrariums you can also find:
🪴 Neoregelia Akeso
🪴 Neoregelia ampullacea Hybrid
🪴 Neoregelia Iris
🪴 Neoregelia Tigrina
🪴 Neoregelia Caviar
🪴 several other unidentified Neoregelias
🪴 Solanum uleanum
🪴 Biophytum sp. Ecuador
🪴 and many more...
As you can see, even life that doesn't run away can be just as fascinating. 😍
Now I'm curious... how many of my followers are also into these colorful "weeds"? Or maybe some of you are just as obsessed with aroids, melastomes or bromeliads? 🌿👇

Mniarogekko chahoua 🦎🌿

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

Jeszcze chwilę temu było go dosłownie odrobinę, a teraz powoli zaczyna przejmować kolejne tuby korkowe. I szczerze? Wcale mi to nie przeszkadza 😅

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I don't know if it's just me... but sometimes it feels like I'm not growing the moss anymore—it's growing itself. 🤣

Not long ago there was barely any of it, and now it's slowly taking over more and more cork tubes. And honestly? I don't mind it at all 😅

Rhacodactylus sarasinorum "White Coral"

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
Ostatnio naszła mnie pewna refleksja i zadałem sobie jedno pytanie... Kiedy sarasinorum może być za dużo? 🤔

Odpowiedź przyszła bardzo szybko. Chyba nigdy.

Naprawdę niesamowicie ładny i sympatyczny gatunek! 🥹

A Wy? Macie taki gatunek, którego moglibyście mieć coraz więcej i nadal byłoby Wam mało? 😄

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Lately I've found myself thinking about one question... Can you ever have too many Rhacodactylus sarasinorum? 🤔

The answer came surprisingly quickly... probably never. 😅 There was a time when I wondered if I really had room for a bigger group. After all, everything should have its limits... but I quickly gave up on that idea. They're simply too awesome to say "that's enough." ❤️

Even though I've been keeping them for many years now, they still pull me in every single day. Every time I look at them, I'm reminded why I fell in love with this species in the first place.

Such an incredibly beautiful and charming gecko! 🥹

What about you? Is there a species you could keep adding to your collection and still never get enough of? 😄

Terratoscincus scincus 🦎

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
Terratoscincusy zawsze będę wspominał jako swój pierwszy naprawdę egzotyczny gatunek. 😆

I powiem Wam jedno...

To chyba jedyny gatunek, który nigdy nic mi nie zrobił, a mimo to darzę go ogromnym respektem. 😂

To szczekanie.
Ten charakter...

No i ten ich sposób poruszania się. 🥹

Uwielbiam te małe, słodkie, krwiożercze demoniki i chyba już zawsze będą miały u mnie wyjątkowe miejsce. 🦎❤️

A Wy? 😄

----

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I'll always think of Terratoscincus as my first truly exotic species. 😆

Sure, I'd already kept Eublepharis and Correlophus, but somehow they've always felt a little closer to "pets" than truly exotic reptiles. 🤣

Funny enough, it wasn't even Terratoscincus scincus that I started with, but Terratoscincus roborowskii. Apart from their appearance though, they're incredibly similar. 😄

And I have to admit something...

This is probably the only species that has never actually done anything to me... yet I still have a huge amount of respect for them. 😂

The moment one starts waving its tail or lets out that little bark, I instantly turn into jelly. 🤪 And picking them up—especially when taking photos—is a whole different level of stress. 🤣

Even so, I can't imagine not keeping them. ❤️

They're definitely not the kind of geckos that enjoy being handled. But there's just something about them that's impossible to resist.

Those huge frog-like eyes.
The barking.
That attitude...

And the way they move. 🥹

I absolutely love these tiny, adorable little demons, and I think they'll always have a special place in my collection. 🦎❤️

What about you? 😄

Who else has fallen in love with Terratoscincus?

Show me your geckos and their enclosures! I'm currently planning a new setup for mine, so I'd love to see your ideas and get some inspiration. 😁

Ptenopus garrulus

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

I właśnie do takich należą Ptenopus garrulus. 🦎

Nie wiem, czy można nazwać je pięknymi. 😂

Ni to ładne, ni to brzydkie...

No i mam wrażenie, że częściej to one obserwują mnie niż ja je. 🤪

A dzisiaj?

Dzisiaj nie wyobrażam sobie swojej kolekcji bez tych małych wariatów. 🧡

A Wy?

Jest u Was taki gatunek, który większość ludzi uznałaby za "dziwny"... a Wy nie zamienilibyście go na żadnego innego? 😄

--------------

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
There are animals out there that most people have probably never even heard of.

Then you get into reptile keeping... and suddenly you discover species that look so bizarre it's hard to believe they're actually real. 🤣

And Ptenopus garrulus is definitely one of them. 🦎

Honestly...

I'm not even sure I'd call them beautiful. 😂

They're not pretty.
They're not ugly either...

But there's just something about them that's impossible to ignore.

I love watching them dig their burrows, run around the enclosure and act like they own the whole place. 😎

And I'm pretty sure they spend more time watching me than I spend watching them. 🤪

I honestly don't know what else I could say about these little weirdos...

They're simply one of those species you can't help but love. 🥹❤️

I spent years trying to get them, and somehow it never worked out.

And now?

I can't imagine my collection without them. 🧡

I absolutely love them.

And every single day they make me just as excited as I was when I first started keeping reptiles. 🥰

What about you?

Do you have a species that most people would call "weird", but you wouldn't trade it for anything else? 😄

Phyllurus amnicola

🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

A mimo to zawsze wracałem właśnie do Phyllurus amnicola.

A Wy?

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

I really wanted to post this on Monday... 😅

But as always, there were simply too many things to finish. One of them was this enclosure, which I can finally show you today! 🥹🌿

(And yes... this post would have gone up yesterday if these little guys hadn't decided that it was the perfect time to shed 🤣.)

This is a species that has stayed with me since 2019 🙈❤️

Over the years we've been through everything together.
Successes, failures, exciting moments, and times when I honestly thought I'd never keep them again.

And yet...

I've "quit" keeping Phyllurus amnicola more than once.
But somehow I always came back to them.

Today I know they're here to stay.
They're one of those species that constantly remind me why I fell in love with reptile keeping in the first place 🧡

Beautiful, fascinating, full of personality, and incredibly rewarding to observe.

I've worked with many individuals over the years...
And I've never once grown tired of them ❤️

The pair in today's photos is now fully mature and has already gone through its first breeding season.

Unfortunately, the first clutch didn't work out and the eggs had to be discarded. 🥚

But that's actually quite common with first-time breeders.

So now we're keeping our fingers crossed for the next clutch! 🤞
Hopefully the next eggs will be fertile and we'll welcome some tiny Phyllurus babies before long 🥹🦎
