🌿 Alugbati Plant Care Alert: Rainy Season Fungal Issues! 🌧️

With the heavy rains and overly moist soil lately, our beloved Malabar spinach (Alugbati / Basella alba) is facing some common rainy-season struggles.
Have you noticed your Alugbati leaves looking a bit distressed? You might be dealing with Cercospora leaf spot—a common fungal disease that thrives in wet, humid conditions.

🔍 Signs to Look Out For:
Distinct Spots: Circular spots featuring light-colored centers surrounded by darker reddish-brown or purple borders.
Holes & Patches: Large brown patches and holes caused by a combination of the fungus and opportunistic chewing insects.

🛠️ How to Manage and Protect Your Alugbati: Prune Affected Leaves: Immediately remove heavily damaged or spotted leaves to prevent the fungus from spreading to healthy parts of the plant.
Reduce Moisture: Avoid overhead watering (let the rain do its job naturally, but keep soil well-drained) and ensure your plants have good airflow by spacing them out properly.
Inspect Regularly: Check your garden often during the rainy season so you can catch and treat issues early on!
