This cat tested positive for ๐…๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐‹๐ž๐ฎ๐ค๐ž๐ฆ๐ข๐š ๐•๐ข๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ (๐…๐ž๐‹๐•) despite having a good appetite, good body condition, normal CBC and blood chemistry, and being active with no obvious signs of illness.

๐–๐ก๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ญ?

FeLV can be silent. It can affect the immune system and bone marrow, increasing the risk of infections, anemia, blood disorders, and certain cancers such as lymphoma and leukemia.

Cats exposed to FeLV may not show signs immediately. Some can remain apparently healthy for months or even years.

If one cat is FeLV-positive, the other cats should be individually tested, especially if they are unvaccinated or have an unknown status. Recently exposed cats may initially test negative, so your veterinarian may recommend repeat or additional testing.

Early testing means early knowledgeโ€”and the opportunity to protect the other cats.
