Case of the Week: Closed-Type Pyometra
This patient was presented with decreased appetite, weight loss, and lethargy — signs that may look simple but can indicate a serious, life-threatening condition.
Closed-type pyometra is especially dangerous because there may be no visible vaginal discharge, while infection continues to build inside the uterus.
The patient underwent OVH surgery and has now been discharged, recovering at home. 🐾
Early diagnosis and veterinary care can save lives.
Spaying is one of the best ways to prevent pyometra and other uterine diseases.
Have your pet checked if you notice sudden weakness, poor appetite, or weight loss.
