This patient presented with a large, ulcerated mass near the head and ear, with areas of inflammation, tissue breakdown, and discharge. Masses like this should never be ignored, especially when they rapidly grow, bleed, ulcerate, or become infected.

Proper evaluation through cytology or biopsy is important to determine the exact cause and guide treatment. 🐾

🚨 Not all emergencies are caused by accidents. Some begin silently.

These are our recent cases. Pyometra is a severe bacterial infection of the uterus that affects unspayed female dogs. It can progress rapidly and become fatal if left untreated.

Common signs include:
🐾 Lethargy
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Increased drinking and urination
🐾 Swollen abdomen
🐾 Vaginal discharge (in some cases)

⚠️ A dog with a “closed pyometra” may have no vaginal discharge at all, making the condition even more dangerous.

Prompt veterinary attention is critical. In most cases, emergency surgery is the treatment of choice and offers the best chance for recovery.

💚 Spaying your dog before pyometra develops is the most effective way to prevent this life-threatening disease.

Don’t ignore subtle changes in your pet’s behavior—early intervention can save a life.
