While some of us walked from door to door, others stood in front of a classroom. In different places, we carried the same intention. To care. To teach. To connect.
As we stepped into homes, we were welcomed not as strangers, but as people trusted with something deeply important. In one home, what began as a simple visit slowly grew, as neighbors called out and invited others to come. One became many. It was not planned, not organized, just people choosing to show up for the animals they loved.
At the same time, inside the classroom, a different kind of connection was unfolding. The Grade 6 students welcomed us with bright eyes and open minds. They listened with care, understood quickly, and asked questions without hesitation. What began as a lesson became a conversation. Their curiosity extended beyond what we prepared, reaching into the world they were still learning to understand. In their questions, we saw something powerful. The willingness to learn, to grow, and to care.
Somewhere between the homes and the classroom, between the walking and the teaching, we realized that advocacy is not only about the services we provide. It is about the trust we are given. It is about the lives we are allowed to step into, even briefly.
Healthy pets, safe families.
