⚠️ Parvovirus Cases Are Increasing

We are currently seeing a rise in cases of Canine Parvovirus in our area. This highly contagious viral disease mainly affects puppies and unvaccinated dogs and can cause severe vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and even death if not treated early.

🐶 Protect your dog by:
• Keeping vaccinations up to date
• Avoiding contact with sick or unknown dogs
• Disinfecting areas where dogs frequently stay

If your dog shows vomiting, diarrhea (often bloody), lethargy, or loss of appetite, seek veterinary care immediately.

🐶🦠 HYDATID DISEASE: A SILENT RISK WE CAN PREVENT

📸 This parasite egg was detected from a patient we examined a few days ago.

Did you know that dogs can carry a parasite that causes Hydatid Disease in humans?

Hydatid disease is caused by Echinococcus tapeworms. Dogs become infected by eating raw or undercooked organs from livestock. Humans can get infected accidentally by ingesting parasite eggs from contaminated hands, food, water, or surfaces after contact with infected dogs.

⚠️ Why is this dangerous?
In humans, hydatid disease can cause cysts in the liver, lungs, brain, and other organs, which may require surgery and long-term treatment.

🐾 Good news: This disease is PREVENTABLE!

• Regular deworming of dogs and cats
• Do not feed raw meat or organs to pets
• Practice proper handwashing, especially after handling pets
