“IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO, YOU WILL NEVER FEEL LIKE YOU’RE WORKING.”
Sometimes, what feels like a series of failures is actually God preparing you for the dream you’ve been praying for.
Buds Pet Hotel started as a dream.
Before Buds, we tried several businesses. And interestingly, every business we started was connected to something we genuinely loved.
If there’s one thing we have always known we love, it’s animals.
We have 10 Yorkies and 4 rescue cats at home. Yes, you read that right. 😂
And because apparently 14 pets weren’t enough, we also carry dog food, wet food, and cat food in our car. Why? Because whenever we see a stray dog or cat, we want to be ready to feed them.
That’s just who we are.
So naturally, we dreamed of having a business related to pets.
Our first attempt was a pet supplies shop. It was doing okay, but the income was slow and realistically, it wasn’t enough to sustain our big family of two humans, 10 Yorkies, and 4 cats.
And there was another problem…
Our most loyal customers were the stray cats and dogs outside the shop. They somehow knew that once the store opened, the buffet was open too!
We couldn’t resist feeding them. So technically, we were running a pet supplies shop where the animals outside were getting the best deals. 😂
We eventually realized that while the business was related to animals, it wasn’t something we genuinely looked forward to every day.
So we kept dreaming.
Then came Buds Pet Hotel.
At first, we followed the usual concept of a pet hotel..cages, partitions, dividers, and the typical setup we saw everywhere else.
But it didn’t work.
No customers.
No leads.
No bookings.
We started thinking that maybe this was the end of our dream of having a business centered around pets.
But then another idea came.
“Let’s try one last time.”
This time, we wanted something different.
We wanted a place that felt like home.
No cages.
No tiny partitions.
No feeling of being confined.
Just an open, comfortable space where pets could play, explore, and simply be themselves.
And honestly, when we started, we didn’t know what would happen.
We thought, “Let’s give this one more shot. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, we’ll figure out what’s next.”
We’ve always been the aggressive, risk taking type. 😂
But looking back now, we realize something:
Maybe God allowed us to fail multiple times because He was preparing us for this.
Every failed business taught us something.
Every difficult decision taught us something.
Every crisis made us stronger.
Every mistake made us wiser.
Those experiences taught us how to plan better, make better decisions, understand risks, and become more resilient as business owners.
What we thought were failures were actually preparations.
And then… Buds happened. 💛💙
Since we opened, the bookings kept coming.
Clients started returning.
And eventually, those clients became our regulars.
And their pets?
They became family.
From June until today, we have never been empty.
Not because we are the best.
Not because everything we do is perfect.
But because we believe this is God’s provision.
And this is how God works.
Sometimes, He doesn’t give you what you want immediately.
Sometimes, He lets you try.
He lets you fail.
He lets you learn.
He lets you become stronger.
And then, when you’re finally ready, He gives you the thing you were praying for at exactly the right time.
Today, we can honestly say:
This is our dream job.
Because Buds Pet Hotel doesn’t feel like a job.
It doesn’t even feel like a business.
It feels like a part of who we are.
We get to wake up every day surrounded by animals we love. We get to meet different personalities, different breeds, and different little characters.
But most importantly, we get the privilege of experiencing the unconditional love that these four-legged babies give so freely.
And that is something money can never measure.
So when you leave your furbabies with us, we want you to know one thing:
We will care for them the way we care for our own.
Because to us, they are not just customers’ pets.
They are part of the Buds family.
And today, receiving a heartfelt message from one of our customers thanking us for the care and service we provide reminded us of exactly why we started.
Sometimes, as business owners, we get so focused on bookings, operations, expenses, and everything else that comes with running a business that we forget to stop and ask ourselves:
“Why are we doing this?”
Then a message like this comes.
And suddenly, we remember.
This is why.
For the trust.
For the wagging tails.
For the happy faces.
For the pets who come back excited to see us.
For the owners who can finally leave their babies with peace of mind.
And for the privilege of being part of their lives, even just for a little while.
Buds Pet Hotel started as a dream.
Today, it’s a dream that God allowed us to live every single day.
And for that, we will always be grateful. 🙏🏻
To all our clients and our Buds family, THANK YOU!!
Thank you for trusting us with the ones you love most.
