✨ Better late than never! 💚🧡

Our 5th Anniversary Celebration may have been last June 28, and this post comes a little late because we encountered an issue recovering some of our files and photos. Thankfully, everything has been restored, and we’re finally able to share this special milestone with all of you. ♥️

To everyone who has been part of our journey, maraming, maraming salamat! Five years wouldn’t have been possible without your unwavering love, trust, and support.

Sa aming loyal furparents, clients, friends, suppliers, doctors, groomers, staff, at sa lahat ng naging bahagi ng Mindz Pet—thank you for believing in us from Day 1 hanggang ngayon.

This is not just our 5th year—it’s five years of trust, compassion, growth, and countless wagging tails and happy purrs. 🐶🐱

🐾 When a limp tells a bigger story…

Curry came to the clinic because of persistent limping on his right foreleg. An X-ray revealed a severe chronic fracture of the radius and ulna. This was not a new injury — the same fracture had occurred years ago, and a previous failed casting caused the bones to heal improperly.

Because of this, the fracture developed into a chronic malunion, where the bones healed in the wrong position with excessive callus and calcified bone formation. This abnormal healing caused deformity, pain, and prevented the bone fragments from being properly reconnected.

Our team carefully evaluated the limb and initially attempted to salvage the leg. Unfortunately, due to the severe calcification and deformity around the fracture site, the bone segments could no longer be realigned or reconstructed safely.

⚕️ Because the limb had become painful and non-functional, the most humane and medically appropriate option was a scapulectomy — surgical removal of the affected forelimb to eliminate chronic pain and improve Curry’s quality of life.

The procedure was successfully performed by Dr. Angelo, specializing in orthopedic surgery, together with Dra. Fatima, specializing in soft-tissue surgery.

🐶 Recovery will still take time — especially since Curry is a Pomeranian, and we all know how playful and energetic they can be. But the good news? Curry is already more comfortable and starting to return to his playful self.

💡 Important reminder:
Improperly healed fractures can lead to chronic pain, deformity, and loss of function. In some cases, amputation is not giving up — it’s giving a pet a pain-free second chance at life. Many dogs adapt incredibly well and live happy, active lives on three legs.

Curry’s journey to recovery continues, but this little fighter is already bouncing back. 🐾✨:

🧵 Cookie, the sewing kit mastermind… caught in the act.

Cookie was brought to the clinic after the owner noticed a lump on the neck. Around the same time, one needle from their sewing kit mysteriously went missing — and the prime suspect was none other than Cookie.

To confirm the suspicion, our vet immediately performed an X-ray.
📸 The result: a sewing needle lodged in Cookie’s neck.

⚠️ Thankfully, the needle was not lodged in the trachea (windpipe) or the esophagus (food pipe). If it had penetrated either of these structures, it could have caused:

Difficulty breathing

Severe swallowing problems

Infection in the chest or surrounding tissues

Life-threatening complications

Because the needle was located within the soft tissues of the neck and had not punctured these vital structures, surgical removal was safer and more straightforward.

⚕️ Our vet then performed surgery to carefully locate and remove the needle, preventing it from migrating deeper or causing further injury.

✨ The procedure was successful, and Cookie is now on the road to recovery.

💡 Reminder to pet owners:
Small objects like needles, threads, pins, and sewing materials can easily become dangerous foreign bodies for curious pets. Always keep these items securely stored and out of reach.

Because sometimes… the cutest pets are also the sneakiest masterminds 🐶🧵
