"Cauliflower Ear" ang tawag if indi dayon ma treat ang Ear/Aura Hematoma sang aton furbaby.

FYI: An aural hematoma in dogs is a pocket of blood in the ear flap (pinna) caused by ruptured blood vessels from intense head shaking, usually stemming from an underlying ear infection or allergy. It causes a soft, swollen, "water balloon" effect. If left untreated, the blood is reabsorbed but results in a deformed, scarred, and thickened ear, known as "cauliflower ear".

Myiasis on a thursday ganap sa Monido Veterinary Services! Simple wound suturing lang tani, pero nakibot ka nga ga gual na mga maggots pag assess mo plang ka pilas. Grabe ka dasig sg langaw mangitlog sa pilas (4-day dog bite wound in the left ear-pinna)) kag mag maggoooootsss. 🥺

FYI! In warm, humid weather, fly eggs laid on a dog’s wound or dirty fur can hatch into larvae (maggots) within 24 hours and begin feeding on tissue immediately. Within 4 days, these maggots can grow large enough to cause severe, life-threatening tissue damage.

FYI 101:
Castration (also called neutering) is a simple surgery where a male dog or cat’s testicles are removed. This stops them from being able to reproduce.

🐶🐱 What Does It Do?

The testicles make a hormone called testosterone. This hormone:
💠 Drives the urge to mate
💠 Causes roaming in search of females
💠 Increases marking (spraying urine)
💠 Can increase fighting or aggressive behavior

When the testicles are removed, testosterone levels drop. This usually means:

Canine Parvovirus (CPV) is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs, particularly puppies.

🦠 What is Canine Parvovirus?

A severe, contagious virus that primarily attacks a dog’s intestinal tract and, in some cases, the heart.

🚨 Symptoms

Severe vomiting
Bloody diarrhea
Lethargy
Loss of appetite
Fever or low body temperature
Rapid dehydration

🔄 How It Spreads

Direct contact with infected dogs
Contaminated f***s
Contaminated environments (e.g., kennels, bowls, hands, shoes)

The virus is extremely hardy and can live on surfaces for months.

🛡️ Prevention

Vaccinate puppies starting at 6–8 weeks
Keep up with booster shots
Avoid dog parks or socialization with unvaccinated dogs
Disinfect surfaces with bleach-based cleaners

🏥 Treatment

There’s no cure for the virus itself, but intensive supportive care (IV fluids, anti-nausea meds, antibiotics for secondary infections) can save lives — especially if caught early.
