UB Students Create Rabbit Diarrhea Cure from Bilimbi Leaves

Starting from complaints of rabbit breeders in the Karangploso area, Malang, three students of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) make an economical diarrhea medication for rabbits.
What’s different is that these three students consist of Rhezaldian Eka Darmawan (Faculty of Engineering), Galuh Dianita Fitri (Faculty of Animal Husbandry), and Anas Nur Hidayah (Perikana and Marine Science Faculty) created it from bilimbi (Averrhoa blimbi) leaves.
“We make antibiotics to rabbits for it attacked most in Malang especially during the rainy season,” said Rhezaldian when interviewed at the Dean building of the Faculty of Engineering on Tuesday (12/Jan/2016).

Usually, Rhezaldian explained, rabbit breeder used to give cows antibiotics when their animals had diarrhea. However antibiotic for cows, this dose is too big for small animal like rabbit. It still done until now because of their lack of knowledge in handling rabbit with diarrhea......

Lionhead Standards

The ARBA Standards of Perfection contains a full description of the Lionhead. Some of the distinctions are as follows:

Ears are 3.5” or shorter (USA)

Mane must be at least 2” long, and must encircle the head entirely, with no breaks. It should be full, prominent, and dense. There must be a clear break between the mane and the “transition wool” on the lower sides and rump, if any. A lack of a clear separation is a disqualification

The wooled areas are lighter in pigmentation, a common feature in rabbit wool. The undercoat is the same color as the wool, while the shorter furred areas of the rabbit’s body are normally pigmented.

Ears must not carry furnishings such as in the English Angora

Any wool in the saddle area is a disqualification.

Air Dried and Sun Dried Grass

Sa nagpapatulong po regarding sa difference at kung ano mas maganda between air or sun dried grass dito ko na lang po sasagutin yung katanungan ninyo. Para makatulong din sa iba na may same question.

Air Dried - best for immediate consumption. Air Drying for at least 1-3hours after harvest. Yung tipong harvest ngayon umaga pakain sa hapon. Or yung harvest ng tanghali pakain ng hapon.

Sun Dried - best for stocking purpose. Madami dami ang naharvest for the day ang can be consumed for almost a weeks time.

Bakit sabi ng iba mas maganda ang sun dried kaysa sa air dried?

Gaya ng scenario sa taas yun pa din ang stand ko.

May claim na mas mainam ang sun dried kasi napapanatili nito ang karamihan sa nutrients na meron at mas mabilis ang pagpapatuyo ng mga ito.

TAMA PO ito kung REKTA mong patutuyuin or ibibilad ang mga harvest ninyong grass forage.

MALI naman po kung ang mga harvest ninyo ay HINUGASAN or binanlawan ng tubig. Bakit? Ang sagot ay simple lang - kung amg mga hinugasan or binanlawan na mga grass forage ay i-sun dried ninyo agad agad, walang po pinagkaiba, uulitin ko po WALANG PINAGKAIBA sa damo na PINAKULUAN. Dahil ito sa sobrang init ng sinag ng araw. At mas masasayang ang mga nutrients na meron ang inyong mga grass forage. Kaya kung mag SUN DRIED kayo make sure na na AIR DRIED muna para hindi masayang ang nutrients na meron ang grass forage.

Tanong - Ano po gamot sa Sorehocks?

Ang aking kasagutan -
Spray mo lang mg quickheal 2x a day. Kung may budget ka nman po try neosporin (1k plus po presyo).

Paano iiwasan - kadalasan ang tinamaan ay yungga bagong panganak dahil sa kabigatan nila. Sa buck naman yung mga matataba na parating nag stomping. Ilan sa mga rason kung san nakukuha ang sorehocks ay ang mga sumusunod:

1. Rough flooring (welded wire) kadalasan yung mga bagong gawa or bagong bili na cages with flooring na GALVANIZED welded wire ay nakakagasgas sa paa ng ating mga alaga. Kung bago ang cage mo at galavanized welded wire pwede mo siya scrub ng scothbright scrubbing pad bago gamitin para mawala rougness .
2. Overweight -minsan dahil sa masyadong mataba na or dahil buntis yung bigat nila sa paa hindi na kinakaya ng talampakan at nabubugbog na ito. Kaya need talaga imonitor ang weight not unless if inililabas mo na ang palayok.🤣
3. Mahahabang kuko - dahil sa mahahaba na anh kuko hindi na maganda ang balance nila .
4. Parating nababasa ang paa nila - natatanggal or naninipis yung fur nila sa paa nila at pagnagasgas nasusugatan.
5. Stomping/thumping kadalasan nangyayari sa mga buck. Lalo na if katatapos or walang kasta. 🤣

Paano maiwasan? Alam.na ninyo ang cause sa malamang alam na din ninyo gagawin. 🤣

Simpleng tweak lang maglagay ng tiles or ng tuyong maong sa cage nila (ilagay dun sa part na hinihigaan nila wag dun sa part na c.r. nila 😁). Or if meron kang malaki laki budget mag invest sa plastic matting.😊😊
