BYD just introduced a safety feature that checks under the car before it moves. 🚗🐾
In June 2026, China’s BYD unveiled an AI-powered underbody vision system designed to detect living beings hiding beneath parked vehicles, including children, pets, and stray animals.
The system takes an image of the ground when the car is parked. Before the car moves again, it compares that image with a live view under the vehicle. If something has changed and looks like a living being, the driver gets an alert.
It may sound simple, but it targets a dangerous blind spot most drivers cannot see, the space directly under the car.
BYD says the technology is part of its growing push into AI-powered safety, helping prevent accidents before the vehicle even starts moving.
