🐾🧡A Fighter. A Survivor. ROXY! 🧡🐾
Roxy, a beautiful Rough Collie, was brought to Pampanga Animal Hospital in a comatose state due to ivermectin toxicity —a condition that can be life-threatening in Collies because of a genetic mutation called MDR1 (ABCB1). This condition affects their ability to safely process certain medications, making them vulnerable to severe neurological reactions.
When Roxy arrived, her condition was critical.
Through intensive medical care, round-the-clock monitoring, dedicated nursing, and the unwavering commitment of her furparents, Roxy slowly began her journey back. After two weeks of hospitalization and consistent treatment, she emerged from her comatose state and continued to improve every day.
Today, Roxy is back to enjoying life, surrounded by the people who never gave up on her. ❤️
Her story reminds us that breed-specific health risks matter—and that early veterinary care can save lives.
To Roxy and her loving family, thank you for trusting us with her care. Your patience, dedication, and love played a huge role in her remarkable recovery.
Way to go, Roxy! We are so proud of you. 🐾
