1. Ayusin ang inyong mga gate. Ang nakawalang a*o ay pananagutan ninyo.

SHELTER vs POUND: Why the difference matters 🐾

ANIMAL SHELTER
Usually run by private rescuers & NGOs.
Funded by donations and our own pockets.
Goal: Heal, love, rehome. Many are “no-kill.”
Animals stay until adopted — sometimes for life.
Compassion is the budget. Love is the policy.

CITY POUND
Run by the local government / LGU.
Funded by taxes, but budgets are often small.
Goal: Public safety & animal control.
Law gives them only 3–7 days holding period.
If unclaimed or unadopted, euthanasia is legal.
Staff may care, but they’re overwhelmed and underfunded.

The hard truth:
Shelters give animals a future.
Pounds give animals a deadline.

That’s why rescuers like us pull from pounds. That’s why we beg for adopters. That’s why we spend our last cent.

Both exist. Only one is built on love.
If you can’t adopt, foster. If you can’t foster, donate.
If you can’t donate, share.
Because once the pound door closes, sometimes a rescuer is their only hope.

Advocating for the rights of animals is not a walk in the park. It takes pure passion and compassion.

Stop animal abuse!!

Animal rights activists connected to decentralized movements, including the Animal Liberation Front, say they sometimes enter laboratories and farms to remove animals they believe are being mistreated. These groups operate without centralized leadership and often work in secrecy, documenting conditions or exposing alleged abuse. Supporters argue that this form of direct action is necessary to help animals who cannot defend themselves. Critics say tactics such as trespassing, vandalism, and disruption of businesses break the law and undermine legitimate advocacy. In many countries, authorities classify these actions as criminal offenses, while activists claim the urgency of animal suffering outweighs legal concerns. Founded in the 1970s, the Animal Liberation Front says its mission is to free animals from harmful environments and financially challenge industries that profit from exploitation. The debate continues over how far activism should go and where society should draw the boundary between legality and moral duty.

Make it a habit: feed the strays if you see them. To them you are someone. Help them!!
