The Joy of Urban Farming Program continues to support our urban farmers from Districts 1 to 6 through the initiative of our beloved Quezon City Mayor, Hon. Joy Belmonte, under the supervision of Ms. Tina Perez, Head of the Joy of Urban Farming Program.

Through this program, our urban farmers are given the opportunity to sell their fresh and locally grown produce at the Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) Weekend Fresh Market, helping them earn additional income while promoting healthy, locally produced vegetables.

For this week's market, District Focal Ms. Melissa Sanchez Bentilanon has been assigned to assist, supervise, and provide support to our participating urban farmers, ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the market.

Together, we continue to empower our urban farmers and build a greener, healthier, and more food-secure Quezon City.

Joy of Urban Farming Orientation of Basic Hydroponics Skills

📍 BJMP Quezon City Jail – Male Dormitory, Payatas, District 2

The Joy of Urban Farming Program successfully conducted a Basic Hydroponics Skills Orientation for the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the BJMP Quezon City Jail – Male Dormitory in Payatas, District 2.

This initiative is part of the vegetable food production project of Hon. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, under the supervision of Ms. Tina Perez, Head of the Joy of Urban Farming Program.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to City Agriculturist Mr. Pocholo Bonifacio for sharing his expertise and leading the orientation. Special thanks also to Ms. Melissa Sanchez Bentilanon District 2 Focal Person, for coordinating this activity, together with the dedicated Team JOUF members who assisted throughout the program.

Through this initiative, the participants gained practical knowledge and skills in basic hydroponics, helping promote sustainable food production, urban agriculture, and food security.

The Joy of Urban Farming, a project of our beloved Quezon City Mayor, Hon. Joy Belmonte, under the supervision of Ms. Tina Perez, Head of the Joy of Urban Farming Program, successfully conducted a Joy of Urban Farming 101 Orientation for senior citizen participants at Bansalangin St., Area A, Barangay Payatas, District 2.

The orientation introduced the basics of urban farming and encouraged participants to practice sustainable gardening, promote food security, and help build a greener and healthier Quezon City.
