Sure, the weather is perfect for naps and cuddles—but it's also the season when many illnesses and parasites become more common.

Here's your Rainy Season Pet Parent Checklist ✅
☔ Keep vaccinations updated.
Protection is always better than treatment. Vaccines help guard against serious diseases like parvovirus, distemper, leptospirosis, and kennel cough.

🦟 Don't skip parasite prevention.
Ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes thrive in warm, humid weather. Keep your pet protected with regular preventives.

💦 Avoid floodwater.
Floodwater isn't just dirty—it may contain bacteria, parasites, chemicals, and other contaminants that can make your pet seriously ill.

🛁 Keep them clean and dry.
After every rainy walk, wipe those paws, dry their coat, and pay extra attention to the ears to help prevent skin and ear infections.

👀 Watch for warning signs.

😼✂️ "I came in a man. I left... slightly less man."

Meet Miru, who visited us today for his castration procedure! 🐾

While Miru may be questioning some of his life choices right now, castration is one of the best decisions pet parents can make for their cats.

🐾🎀 "Hi, I'm Sina. I thought vomiting and bloody diarrhea was a personality trait... turns out it wasn't." 😅

This adorable French Bulldog was brought to us after showing signs of vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and lethargy. Upon testing, she was diagnosed with not just one, but two unwanted guests: Parvovirus and Giardiasis.
Because of the severity of her condition, Sina was confined for 3 days and received intensive treatment, supportive care, and lots of monitoring from our team.

We're happy to share that Sina is doing much better and is continuing her vaccination schedule to help protect her from future infections. 🐶✨

🌧️⚠️ Parvo Season Reminder!
We're seeing more cases of parvovirus, especially in puppies and dogs with incomplete vaccinations. Parvo is highly contagious and can cause severe vomiting, bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and can become life-threatening if not treated promptly.

🐶 How can you protect your pet?
✅ Keep vaccinations up to date
✅ Avoid exposing unvaccinated puppies to high-risk areas
✅ Seek veterinary care immediately if vomiting or diarrhea occurs

🚽🐱 "I kept visiting the litter box... but nothing was coming out."
This handsome feline was referred to us from another clinic due to a FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease) case that required urinary catheterization.

To many cats, the litter box is a place of business. But when FLUTD strikes, it can quickly become a place of frustration, discomfort, and even a life-threatening emergency.

Our patient was having difficulty passing urine, so a urinary catheter was placed to help relieve the obstruction, allow the bladder to empty, and give his urinary tract a chance to recover.

💡 Why is catheterization important in FLUTD cases?
✅ Relieves painful urinary blockage
✅ Prevents bladder overdistension and damage
✅ Helps flush out crystals, debris, and inflammatory material
✅ Allows urine output to be closely monitored
✅ Can be life-saving by preventing dangerous toxin buildup and kidney complications

⚠️ Pet Parent Reminder:
Male cats that repeatedly visit the litter box, strain to urinate, vocalize while urinating, or produce little to no urine should be seen by a veterinarian immediately. A urinary blockage is not something that can wait until tomorrow.

Thankfully, this patient received prompt care and is now on the road to recovery. 🐾💙

🥜🐶 "Doc, I only brought one testicle to the party."
This handsome Jack Russell recently underwent castration for an undescended testicle (cryptorchidism). While it may seem like a small issue, an undescended testicle is more than just a cosmetic concern—it can lead to serious health problems later in life.

The surgery went smoothly, and our brave little patient is now on his way to recovery! ❤️🐾

💡 Why is castration important, especially in cryptorchid dogs?
✅ Reduces the risk of testicular cancer
✅ Prevents painful testicular torsion (twisting of the testicle)
✅ Helps reduce unwanted breeding
✅ May decrease hormone-driven behaviors such as roaming and marking

⚠️ Did you know?
Cryptorchidism (undescended testicles) is a hereditary condition. This means affected dogs can pass the trait on to their puppies. Because of this, dogs with undescended testicles are generally not recommended for breeding.

🐾 "It started with a few scratches... but there was more going on beneath the surface."
This furry friend came to us with moist dermatitis, loss of appetite, black stools, decreased water intake, excessive scratching, and low energy levels. Definitely not feeling their best. 😔

Upon examination, we found pale gums, dehydration, and multiple wounds on the chest, belly, and armpit area. These findings helped us determine the best treatment plan to get our patient back on the road to recovery.

After 7 days of dedicated treatment, medications, and lots of TLC, we're happy to report a much happier update! 🎉 The skin has significantly improved, the wounds have healed nicely, and our patient is feeling much more comfortable.

💡 Pet Parent Reminder:
Skin problems aren't always "just skin problems." Excessive scratching, wounds, lethargy, poor appetite, or changes in stool can be signs that your pet needs veterinary attention. Early intervention can prevent minor issues from becoming major ones.

If your pet is scratching more than usual or just doesn't seem like themselves, don't wait—have them checked by your veterinarian.
