This is something I feel I need to say, not only as a veterinarian, but on behalf of our entire veterinary team.
We know you love your dogs & cats.
Pero bilang pet parents, hindi lang enough na mahal natin sila. ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ด๐บ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ต๐ฎ๐น ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐ป๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐น๐ฎ ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ง๐๐ ๐
Hindi sapat ang โMahal ko naman siya, Doc.โ
Because responsible pet ownership also means:
๐ Updated ba ang vaccines?
8-in-1? KCV? Anti-rabies? Hindi sapat na minsan lang nabakunahan. Vaccination schedules matter, especially for diseases that can be prevented. (dss like parvo, distemper etc.)
๐ฝ๏ธ Proper and appropriate diet ba?
Hindi porke kinakain natin, safe na rin para sa pets. Ang table food, lalo na ang may maraming asin, seasoning, taba, or ingredients na toxic sa animals, ay hindi dapat basta basta ipinapakain sa kanila.
๐ฉบ Regular wellness check-ups ba?
CBC? Bloodchemistry? Hindi lang kapag may sakit. Prevention and early detection can make a significant difference.
๐ฆ Consistent parasite prevention ba?
Deworming and appropriate parasite control are part of responsible pet care.
๐ฆท Dental care and proper hygiene?
Or hinihintay na lang na hindi na makakain ng maayos dahil sa sakit ng ipin bago ipacheck?
๐พ Exercise and a safe environment?
Kung free roaming ang pet, vaccinated and protected ba siya? Alam ba natin kung saan siya nakakapunta at kung ano ang possible exposures niya sa mga ibang furbabies na nakakasalamuha niya sa labas?
๐จ At higit sa lahat, ang early veterinary consultation kapag may napansing pagbabago sa health nila.

May mga pagkakataon na dinadala sa amin ang isang pet na malala na ang kondisyon pagdating sa clinic.
Days nang may sakit.
Hindi na kumakain.
Matamlay na.
Dehydrated.
Nahihirapang huminga.
Damaged organs.
O may infection o disease na matagal nang nagpo-progress.
And by the time they reach us, critical or advanced na ang condition.
Pero kahit ganoon, we still do everything we can.
We diagnose.
We treat.
We monitor.
We operate when indicated.
We provide medications and supportive care.
We fight for your pet.

We can give your pet the best medical care possible based on their condition when they arrive.
Pero kapag hindi naging maganda ang outcome, please remember:
A bad outcome does not automatically mean bad veterinary care.
Minsan, despite proper treatment, intensive monitoring, medications, procedures, and everything medically possible, the disease is simply stronger than the body.
And when that happens, please remember that there are people behind those scrubs.
People who studied for years.
People who make difficult decisions every day.
People who worry about their patients.
People who go home thinking about the patients they couldnโt save.

Vaccinate your pets.
Feed them properly.
Bring them for regular wellness checks.
Practice consistent parasite prevention.
Keep them in a safe environment.
And most importantly, seek veterinary care EARLY.
