Just a little reminder for our fellow customers when bringing home a new fish from Pet City!

Before introducing your new fish, please make sure your aquarium is fully cycled for at least 1 week and that your water parameters are safe. A properly cycled tank helps provide a healthier and more stable environment for your new fish.

When introducing your new fish:
• Turn off or dim the aquarium lights
• Float the unopened bag for 15–20 minutes to match the temperature
• Open the bag and slowly add small amounts of aquarium water every 5 minutes for 20–30 minutes
• Gently transfer the fish using a net — do not pour the transport water into your tank
• Keep the lights off for a few hours and allow your new fish to settle
• Avoid feeding immediately; feed after a few hours or the next day
• Observe your fish for signs of stress or illness
• Check your water quality, especially ammonia and nitrite
• For sensitive or valuable fish, consider quarantine before adding them to the main tank

A little patience and proper acclimation can make a big difference in giving your new fish a safe and healthy start.
