Whatโ€™s the difference between ๐—ฆ๐—ง๐—ฅ๐—”๐—ฌ and ๐—™๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—”๐—Ÿ cats?

๐—” ๐—ฆ๐—ง๐—ฅ๐—”๐—ฌ ๐—–๐—”๐—ง:
โ€ข Is a cat who has been socialized to people at some point in her life, but has left or lost her indoor home, as well as most human contact and dependence.
โ€ข Can become a feral cat as her contact with people dwindles.
โ€ข Can under the right circumstances become a pet cat once again. Stray cats who are re-introduced to a home after living outdoors may require a period of time to re-acclimate; they may be frightened and wary after spending time outside away from people.

๐—” ๐—™๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—”๐—Ÿ ๐—–๐—”๐—ง:
โ€ข Is a cat who has either never had any contact with people or her contact with people has diminished over time. She is not socialized to people and survives on her own outdoors. Most community cats are not likely to ever become lap cats or enjoy living indoors.
โ€ข Can have kittens who can be socialized at an early age and adopted into homes.

๐Ÿ–ค Debunking myths, one purr at a time! ๐Ÿพ

Today, August 17, is Black Cat Appreciation Day, let's celebrate these stunning, smart, and affectionate furballs.

1๏ธโƒฃ ๐Œ๐˜๐“๐‡ - The well known superstition is that itโ€™s bad luck if a black cat crosses your path.
๐“๐‘๐”๐“๐‡ - In some cultures, black cats are lucky! In Scotland, the arrival of a black cat on your doorstep symbolizes prosperity.

2๏ธโƒฃ ๐Œ๐˜๐“๐‡ - Black cats are associated with evil and witches.
๐“๐‘๐”๐“๐‡ - Not true. In ancient Egypt, black cats are associated with the Gods. To kill one is a capital crime!

3๏ธโƒฃ๐Œ๐˜๐“๐‡ - Adoption rate is not as low as it seems because black cat are more common than any other color of cat.

๐๐‹๐€๐˜ provides kittens with opportunities to practice skills they would normally need for survival. Kittens like to explore new areas and investigate anything that moves, and may bat at, pounce on and bite objects that resemble prey. They learn how to inhibit their bite from their littermates and their mother.
