The Australian Red Claw (Cherax quadricarinatus) is a hardy, fast-growing freshwater lobster popular as a pet, for consumption, or for aquaculture. Known for their blue shells and red-tipped claws, they thrive in tropical climates and are easy to raise.

• Setup: Clean water, good aeration, and hiding spots (PVC pipes, pots).
• Water: 24–30°C, pH 6.5–8.0.
• Feeding: Pellets, vegetables, and protein; feed 1–2× daily.
• Behavior: Peaceful but need shelters after molting.

• Mature at 4–6 months.
• Ratio: 1 male : 2–3 females.
• Females carry 200–800 eggs for 4–6 weeks.
• Separate babies to reduce cannibalism.
