2014. THE FARM GROWS.
By this time, the fruit trees started to bear fruit. The ladies, from the household staff and the wives of the farm staff, were collared to participate in making cloth covers for the pomelo fruits. However, the health of Mr. Diaz started to grow poorly. He had problems with his heart and, for a while, early stage colon cancer. Mr. Diaz was adamant that he would win his fights in the health arena.

MUSHROOM GROWING AT THE GREEN BALAI FARM.
The Farm had always this attraction to growing mushrooms. In 2013, Ralph Diaz grew these mushrooms. At that time, his brother, Gerry, and children Jun and Elena, came for a visit. Ralph built his Mushroom House made of cheap bamboo. He was thrilled at the harvest he made. But the termites quickly put an end to this endeavor. The Mushroom House collapsed. Ten years later, mushrooms became a main source of income of the farm. This time, a Mushroom Complex was built of solid materials.

STARTING OUT. In 2012, the owner, Ralph Diaz, went to Morong town to invite people to see the Farm. He gave talks and demonstrations. He gave away seedlings from seeds. He would run after people just to give them his popular Red Lady Papaya Seedlings. It was a good start for this tall man from UP Los Baños who wanted to practice agriculture at his late age.
