🐾 BALD PATCHES? It might be DEMODEX! 😱

Not all skin problems are “allergy” or “fungal.”

Sometimes, it’s something you can’t even see…

🔬 What is Demodex?

Demodex are microscopic mites that normally live on your pet’s skin. Harmless most of the time—but when your pet’s immune system drops, they multiply and cause mange.

📌 How do pets get it?

Passed from mom to puppies/kittens early in life
NOT usually contagious to healthy pets
Shows up when your pet is stressed, sick, or has low immunity

⚠️ Watch out for these signs:

Hair loss (face, eyes, legs, body)
Red or irritated skin
Patchy or scaly areas
Sometimes mild itching

👨‍⚕️ Can humans get it?
👉 NO need to panic.

Demodex in pets is NOT contagious to humans.

🛡️ How to prevent it:
Keep your pet’s immune system strong

Provide proper nutrition 🥩
Regular grooming & hygiene
Routine vet check-ups

💡 Reminder: Demodex is very treatable—but can get worse if ignored.

🌡️ Hot Weather Alert for Pet Owners! 🌡️

It’s 39.7°C here in Davao City! High temperatures can be dangerous for our furry friends. 🐶🐱 Heat stroke in dogs and cats can happen quickly and may become life-threatening if not treated immediately.

📌 Watch for signs: panting, drooling, bright red gums, weakness, vomiting, or collapse.

📌 What to do:

* Move your pet to a cool, shaded area 🌳
* Offer small amounts of cool water 💧
* Gently cool with a damp towel 🧊
* Contact your vet immediately ☎️

📌 Prevention:

* Avoid walks or play during peak heat (10AM–4PM)
* Never leave pets in parked cars 🚗
* Provide plenty of shade and water
* Keep indoor spaces cool and ventilated
