Story time…

Kahapon may suspected rabid dog kami na pasyente. Mabilis ang paghinga, pagewang gewang lumakad, naglalaway din daw sa bahay, disoriented, quite aggressive.

Kinausap namin ang owner at sinabi na posibleng may rabies ang kanilang a*o because of the symptoms. We gave her an option na pwede sila lumipat ng ibang clinic para kumausap din ng ibang vet. Or kung hindi naman ay kailangan i-euthanasia ang kanilang a*o para malaman kung ito talaga ay positive sa a*o. Ininform din namin ang Quezon City Vet department sa ka*o na ito. Agad naman silang tumugon at sinabing hindi pwede magtago or magalaga ng a*o kapag may suspected rabid dog. Sila daw ay makikipagugnayan sa mismong mayari ng a*o.

Mahal natin ang ating mga alaga at itinuturing natin na parte ng ating pamilya. P**i usap p**i pa bakunahan po natin sila ng anti rabies. Ito lang ang paraan upang makaiwas sila sa ganitong sakit. Sabi nga pala ng mayari walang bakuna ang a*o nya ng rabies at minsan nakakalabas ito. Responsibilidad po natin ito upang hindi makahawa sa ibang tao kung sakaling sila ay magkasakit. At sana po wag po kayo magdamdam sa amin kung inirerekomenda namin ang euthanasia sa inyong a*o. Ito po ay para sa inyo at sa bawat tao sa inyong komunidad. Malaki po ang epekto nito at maaaring maging dahilan ng pagkamatay ng tao kung sakaling ito nga ay rabies. Palagi po namin priority hindi lang ang kalusugan ng inyong alaga kung hindi pati ang kalusugan ng mga taong nakakasalamuha ng inyong mga alaga.

Sa tala ng Quezon City Veterinary Department ang ating Distrito II, specifically Commonwealth- Payatas ang may pinakamataas na bilang ng rabies cases sa ating siyudad kung kaya’t hinihikayat ang pagpapabakuna taon taon sa ating mga alaga. Libre ang bakuna ng anti rabies ng a*o sa Quezon City Hall. Marami din nagiikot na kawani ng QC vet dept sa ating barangay at ang aming clinic din ay nagaannounce kapag may libreng bakuna ng anti rabies kaya walang dahilan upang hindi tayo magpabakuna.

HOT SPOTS! ANG KATI NITO!!! 😣

This is a gentle reminder for all pet owners.

Sometimes wound appears in small but in reality when given with proper clinic intervention we will see the severity of the problem. Hence, you can't just send picture to us because the problem is bigger than you know and needs proper treatment.

This dog visited the clinic with complaint of simple itchiness. With proper cleaning, the wound will heal in no time. So do not ask us for meds immediately when we can do better.

P.S. DO NOT TRY TO MANAGE THIS ALONE. If your dog is scratching intensely or you see a moist, red, or bald spot, bring them in for proper dignosis and treatment. Dog needs to be sedated or anesthetize most of the time before you clean properly.

✅️ Upload VET HEALTH CERTIFICATE online or go to BAI's office to secure permit
